Take your time applying, its well worth it...
I am not a big reviewer BUT this made my hair gorgeous. I am almost 60 never colored my hair and not too much gray but its beginning and fast. My Hair is long, thinnish and medium brown, used to be a towhead blonde when very young, slowly browned and finally graying. Its a little messy to do but well worth it. I used a rich hair oil and green hot tea. Heated up 2 oz. hair oil added to 3 tablespoons of henna light brown powder (green color), was nice goopy and green. Added the hot tea slowly to make a 8 ounce glass jar of fluffy paste; well emulsified, mixed well. Turned my dry head of hair upside down in huge sink and slowly massaged in tablespoons all thru scalp to ends. I packed it on, didn't use plastic gloves, slight hand staining but washed off easy with soap. Rolled up my hair in a bun and covered with plastic wrap for hour plus. Wanted to go overnight but was too tired. Rinsed well but not enough to get all oil out. I purposely left some in and went to bed with towels on my pillows. Washout second time with minimal shampoo again, no sulfates ever. The grey was golden and hair was ultra soft. Look forward to doing it again and leave in longer. Smelt nice like the rich hair oil I used. Hair is nice and shiny-love it, I feel brand new :)

Great if you have the right expectations
This is a review for the 'Persian Blonde' henna. My natural hair color is medium blonde. I have been dying my hair platinum blonde for many years and fried it into oblivion, so I was looking for a natural way to color and condition my hair while I am growing out the bleach blonde ends. I thought parts of my hair that were fried with bleach were beyond repair - boy, was I wrong. Henna made my hair come back to life. It looks thick, shiny, and simply fantastic. Here are answers to some of the questions you are likely asking yourself: 1. Will it dye my hair? Not really. It gives hair shine and a bit of a sun-kissed hue, but do not expect a dramatic difference. If your hair is any color but light blonde, you will see no difference in color. 2. Is it easy to dye hair with henna? Yes and no. Mixing henna and putting it on your head is very easy, but the process of putting on henna and washing it off is VERY messy. It has the consistency and color of mud. Plus I recommend you leave it on your head for no less than 2 hours, so from beginning to end plan for 3 hours for the whole activity. 3. How do I mix it and what do I wash it with? OK, after a lot of experimenting I came up with the following formula: take henna, 1 teaspoon of argan oil, and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix with warm chamomile or ginger tea until the mixture is the consistency of thick yogurt. Let stand for 30 minutes minimum, apply to head. Also, use argan oil to get henna out of your head once you want to wash it off. It won't get out of your hair without a fight. Olive oil will do the trick as well. Hope this helps!

Waste of time and money
I got the blonde. I have very light brown hair and wanted my grays to blend a little bit. After using the product I didn’t see any changes in my hair color. All my grays stayed exactly the same as before. The process was horrible. I followed the instructions and created a disgusting green mass that I put on my hair for an hour according to the instructions. The process is very messy. The solution looks like poop and smells really bad like old grass. After a week and 3 washes with shampoo my hair still smells like grass! I didn’t notice my hair getting softer either. Complete waste of time and money.

Light brown is more dishwater blonde green hue
I chose the light brown to highlight my grays in my medium brown hair and it turned my grays a yellow gold with a greenish hue. Maybe it’s just my hair, but this light brown color is more blonde maybe dishwater blonde. I think the product is overall good especially because it’s natural. My hair is shiny and feels nice. I just don’t like the color I will order a darker brown to redo it. Hopefully the green hue disappears.

Henna Powder, a good alternative when allergic to other hair dyes
I have been using Henna products for some time, since I developed an allergy to the regular hair dyes; Iod a would get a bad itchy rash on the skin after regular hair dyes. I have found that this product, the powdered henna seems to work better than the gel or cream henna, although I am coloring really stubborn facial hair or beard hair that is white to grey and I mix this with vinegar and make it really thick and use an old toothbrush. Apply it only to very clean and scrubbed hair while still damp and then cover with a plastic bag and then a heating pad on medium for about an hour, then gently wash out. don't comb it as this product will coat the hair. it will last about 2 weeks on my beard or less depending on the growth of the beard hair. but I am not allergic to it and very happy with the color the dark brown or sable is my favorite. and you can use it often. these original instructions were taken from a similar product and my own experimentation; it does work.

Beautiful color!!!
I have dark ash blonde (well, really it looks more gray) hair with about 10% grays in it. However, I’m really not fond of the gray tone, and was looking to cover my grays and eliminate the cool tones in my hair. I was hoping for a nice warm brown with golden or caramel highlights. I had colored my hair light blonde for decades, but decided I wanted to use something more natural and less damaging to my hair. I chose the light brown henna thinking it would be closest in depth of color to my own. After washing my hair and rinsing it with apple cider vinegar, I mixed the henna with boiling water and 1 1/2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, and applied it. I have short hair, and it wasn’t too difficult. I covered it with a plastic cap, and went out in the sun for several minutes to heat it up, then wrapped it with a towel and left it on my hair for a total of one hour. The result was perfectly colored, warm brown hair with beautiful coppery highlights. It has turned out a bit darker than my natural color, but I’m thrilled with the results, and definitely will continue to use this henna!!
