Lightweight plastic. Well made, fresnel lens for better and overall focus. It's size is very stable, but does wobble a bit putting it on a large book, like a Bible. Focus is good across the entire fresnel lens and is comfortable and lightweight to hold without the frame. Light brightness is adjustable 3 ways and also works well. Bought this to magnify print in a Bible that is 3 or 4 print size. Price is good. Would buy again and I recommend this.

This product is great! Super lightweight. 3 light settings. Gets the job done. I bought a guide for something and the print was very small. I thought it was a wasted purchase - I thought maybe a page magnifier might help so I bought this MAGNIPROS page magnifier and I couldn’t be happier.

Just received this magnifier and it’s great!! I can easily read small items now plus I can also read my food recipes much better. Oh and the holder is perfect while reading and cannot hold my books. Love this product. Everyone needs one!!

The VIEWABLE lens space is 4.25" x 7" which, for studying textbooks is not practical. The lens is supposed to be high quality, but it's like any page-size bendable magnifier : it has concentric rings, which can distort the outer edges of your field of view. The frame is very flimsy and you have to 'click' it a LOT to get it into some usable position. By then, you wonder if the 'clicking' over and over will easily wear down. The sides don't move in tandem; you have to keep moving one side then the other to keep them level with each other. Requires 3 AAA batteries (not included). I had to put them in/out several times before the lights would even turn on. A short 'pop' to the on/off button will work, but HOLDING the on/off will NOT work. There are 3 light levels and the brightest is quite bright. I like the 3rd one - the blue light. It provides illumination but is easy on my eyes. I'll use it because I bought it and I can't find anything wrong with it. But it's disappointingly cheap and doesn't magnify entire pages of my textbooks as I need (and I've tried hanging it from the top of the book, etc.). Since I also do artwork - and some of it is quite fine and up close - I can see using this as a hands-free magnifier for artwork. Again, it's not great quality because it's not glass. I'll find a use for it.

Works like advertised. Fairly easy to put together (read the directions). Nice light with three different light settings and within each setting you can adjust the brightness. This will be a welcome addition to our diamond painting. It’s easy to use, a great value for the price, and the magnification is fine. I was a bit worried it wouldn’t be enough, but it is great.

My wife and I live in Southeast Louisiana (New Orleans) and have to be prepared to evacuate our home because of an approaching hurricane. Because of numerous natural "roadblocks" around us that limit the number of possible evacuation routes out of the city, such as the Mississippi River, Lake Pontchartrain and other connected lakes, bayous, swamps and wetlands, it is of critical importance for us to pre-plan and know how to drive to our primary or secondary evacuation routes, as well as how to get to emergency back-up evacuation routes we can take to get out of the city. There are also only three possible evacuation directions in New Orleans; west (to family in Houston, TX), east (to family in Athens, GA), or north (to family in Louisville, KY). In case of bumper-to-bumper traffic jams that slow the progress of your evacuation to a crawl, or even a complete stop in the event of a multiple-vehicle accident, vehicles' engines overheating and stalling, or vehicles running out of fuel because the driver forgot to fill-up before leaving, having those multiple escape routes in all three directions is a must. To help with that process, I prefer to use the most current Rand McNally State road maps in their "Easy-to-Fold" style because they are covered with a heavy duty plastic that you can write on with erasable color markers to highlight the specific evacuation routes with one color for primary routes, a different color for secondary routes, and a third color for emergency escape routes that might have less traffic than the better known and regularly used routes. As my birthday cakes continue to crowd more and more candles on their top, growing brighter and brighter with the passing of time, my eyesight, unfortunately, seems to be getting dimmer and dimmer. I now need at least 3X power magnification to be able to see and read the road maps clearly, and if it is at night or overcast daytime weather when I'm using these maps. I took care of that situation when I ordered a MagniPros 3X, Almost Half-Page Viewing Area 4-1/5"x 7", LED Illuminated Page Magnifier with 12 Anti-Glare Dimmable LEDs. This page magnifier works very well for me, enlarging the small print typeface used on most maps so I can read them much more easily. It brightens my maps for these "getting older" eyes and dots all the "i's" and crosses all the "t's" for my magnified illumination needs. I am so glad I bought it. If you have similar needs, "Buy It Now", and I believe you'll be as pleased with it as I was!

This would have got four five stars but the first one the lights would not stay on and of course you need them to view something when it's dark. But I thought the magnification was superb so I returned the that one and they sent me another one in the lights work fine with the the new one. They also have a version that has a USB I would strongly suggest this for someone who has a lot of eye troubles like me I had a stroke and this is helping me read a book again

After putting in the batteries, I took a moment to realize where the switch was: it's the same as the dimmer wheel ... turn until it clicks off... Surprisingly distortion free across the field of view. I've grown up expecting Fresnel lenses to be OK in the middle of the field, but drops off legibility away from it. This is fairly flat all the way to the edge. It's very lightweight, which is what you need when holding it for any length of time, hence it's plastic. But looks smart. Very effective. The lights are variable, but not vital unless in poorly lit up area. So you can save on batteries for using them only when necessary. Being LED's I expect a very long life out of the batteries. All in all, a very good purchase. Well worth the money. Just a quick postscript: It is distortion free if held at the recommended distance, go further out and the image distorts. Keep it at 2"-4" (5-10cms max)
