I open the box today, had to change engine oil on my tractor, look for instruction, and did not find any but it was not hard to figure out. I like the idea of going through the dip=stick tube it works pretty darn good. and then to fill it, I had to use a little clean oil to flush the lines out, and reeves the holes to fill, that took forever. I had stop it and thought about it. It's a 12V pump and a 12Volt battery I just switch the battery cable around red to black & black to red and it worked really well. And it didn't take a rocket scientist finger it out

The Harpy Eagle Electric Oil Change Extractor Pump is a waste of time and money. It does not perform as advertised. The pump does not extractor all the used oil out of the oil pan. I tried it on both my vehicles which take 4.5 quarts of oil each. The pump only extracted about 3.5 quarts of old oil leaving at least 1 quart of used oil in the pan. I still had to drain the remaining oil out from the oil pan plug from underneath the old fashion way. I stuck the insert tube into the oil stick tube as instructed as far as it would go and it still did not suck out all the used oil. And be careful touching the pump motor, it gets hot. Although it doesn't work on auto oil changes, it may have other uses, so I won't bother spending the time or money returning it.

Wow, this is a game changer First, if your on the fence, just buy it Now.... It's fully ready out of the box to do exactly as it says, pump oil The pump housing is all metal Cables look to be 14,16ga nice length with 2 large battery clamps, not alligator clips actual battery clamps. 2 hoses already attached, smaller one is stiff so it won't collapse when used and the discharge one flexible and larger to allow exceptional flow, and as a nice addition it has an adjustable clamp to hold it securely to collection container. It's extremely important and I cannot stress enough this pump is for OIL ONLY if you pump water or fuel you will starve the pump for lubrication and problems will arise, prolly not right away but be warned its not a simple fluid transfer pump its specifically designed for oil. Now, onto my use opinion I just used it to pump out my seadoo spark, which holds around 2qts of oil I followed the manufacturers instructions and ran ski to thin oil and this pump worked perfectly, I used it to suck the oil from the filter housing too, and it moves a volume of oil quickly. I opted to use the yellow battery adapter, because I have them and its way easier to carry a small power tool battery than hooking it to ski battery or any other powersport battery. The kit also comes with caps that push onto both hoses to prevent oil mess in the case The case is great, not only does it keep the whole system secure and together but it also has enough room for the battery adapter. All in all its a very well built tool that anyone who needs to perform routine oil changes on any vehicles will take appreciation to especially when draining the oil is not an option.

This is an excellent pump. Super powerful. I own a marine repair shop and we deal with oil almost daily. I have used vacuum pumps in the past and this is a total game changer. There are features about this pump that set it apart from many cheaper options and is totally worth the extra money. There are also some definitive improvements they can make and i will list them which is why I snipped off a star. I have not been endorsed or received any benefit from this review. Its simply my hands on review and I own Socal Marine LLC. Firstly the kit does come with a dipstick insert tube - its very thin and the idea is to slip this down the dipstick tube to extract oil. This will drastically slow the process esp when the oil is cold only because the tube ID is so thin- however by drastic i mean it still pumps 10 times quicker than my old vacuum model! The speed is determnined by the INLET HOSE SIZE! I removed the quickconnect fititng and screwed in a 3/8 barb adapter, ground down the sharp barb edges for easy hose removal and used a firm wall 3/8 oil line (yes those soft clear tubes WILL compress - do not use these/soft hose on the in side!). Well heck this thing pumped about a gallon a minute of a mix of gear and engine oil- Now for the fun part - this pump is totally field repairable, what I mean is if you hit a jam like i did sucking up something other than oil, just pop off the top cover, remove gears and pin (it falls out easy), clean and re-assemble and you are off to the races again. Remember the small gear goes down groove first to seat over the small pin. This has a steel gear much like a chevy oil pump and it will last FOREVER unless you pump sand with it. It has very tight tolerances and works incredibly well. One thing i noticed after removing top cap to clear an obstruction (looked like teflon tape got in there), was I had to leave the 3 screws slightly loose and let it run slowly tightening the screws - if you reassemble and just tighten the screws you will likely just lock the gear- so tighten the screws slowly while the pump is running and untighten if it jams up then gently continue snugging them till it stays running with all 3 snug. It also primed INSTANTLY from a dead vertical drop if 3 feet- and instantly spurted oil out the clear tube which threw oil everywhere. The stupid plastic clip they provide doesnt even fit the tube in the kit! No reverse option but I might swap out the switch since its a DC motor, and also no strainer like in other kits. Also - the case is WAY too tight, once you have added 5/16 and 3/8 lines, its impossible to close. Also - the clip sucks and there are no p;ugs for the clear tube far as i can tell. Overall I am keeping this because i dont like returning used items based on small dislikes- everyone is trying to get by here and I dont need to return funtioning equipment putting a jam in their progress. Pros: Pumps like a monster - 1 gal / minute with a 3/8 inlet Very power pump Pump is QUIET! Nice length of wires and decent clips Case is nice Standard NPT threads for custom hose/fitting options Field servicable - easy to remove/reassemble and continue on Cons: No inlet screen filter Case is too small No reverse option Blue clip does not fit outlet hose at all spraying oil everywhere I am very happy and hope this pump lasts a while.

Absolute trash. This is my second one.... the first one didn't last more then 4 extractions and quit. This one came wrapped like new but obv previously used as there where random nuts and bolts in the case that didn't belong to me or the pump and everything was dirty. I hooked it up and it does not even try to power up and the power cord is not even secure in the housing. Would not recommend.

I’ve always been a traditional oil-change guy — drain plug out from the bottom, old-school style. But a friend recommended this pump, and honestly, I’m pleasantly surprised. The oil change took only about 10–15 minutes with not a single drop spilled on the floor. What impressed me even more was that my wife changed the oil herself for the first time ever since it’s her car, of course with my close supervision. Clean, simple, and surprisingly effective.
