The Best
Going hiking and this is supposed to be the best bear repellent on the market, by avid hikers I know. Hopefully I’ll never need it but don’t want second best in a bear encounter.

Necessity to have outdoors!
Bought it for my SIL who works (truck driver) nights retrieving crude oil from oil wells in wooded areas. He had an experience with a coyote that aggressively came within 4 feet of him. I bought this for him as a Christmas gift. Since then he has videotaped a mountain lion, the size of a small horse, and said he just clipped the spray onto his belt and pulled the pin while he was out of the truck for easy access. Happy that he had some form of repellant easily accessible on hand! Great price for the product. Priceless for safety!

Protection vs killing
Recent bear activity around the immediate area and was surprised to come face to face with one. Was about 15’ away maybe coming out from around the garage, and took me by surprise but had no confrontation directly. So quiet this animal and then it’s right there. It was alerted by the barking of next door neighbors dog. Well, it went after it and I believe it’s gone now. Recently it’s ok. This bear was fast as hell so watch your pets. So now when I am outside I have another option other than using a handgun. This stuff is nasty to smell left over traces of it. No wonder it works so well. Heads up people. Bears are no joke.

Good to have but didn't use it.
This is like care insurance. You buy it in hopes you don't need it. I can say that the holder was great for clipping on a belt or even my pack straps. The size of the can was not annoying to carry.

Industrial strength OC canister, just in case.
Bought this spray in the large canister size to replace an identical canister that went flying off into the bushes during a horrendous hike in some mountains in the western U.S. We have never used this particular brand, nor this can size, in the wild however we have used police-issue OC sprays successfully over the years against everything from dogs and bulls to raccoons and even a rattlesnake and it has done the job every time. When hiking in bear country we are never without it.
