Progresso Mediterranean-Style Lentil Protein Soup, Vegetarian, 19 oz. (Pack of 12)

I am very grateful Amazon carries this variety of Progresso soup because I haven't found it in any of my grocery stores. I wanted to try just one can to see how it was but ended up not regretting getting this pack of 12 because it is quite good for a lentil soup and you may only need to add a little herbed salt to it as it is not that salty. Some Progresso soups have more salt than others so you never know. The flavor is mild and there are also some garbanzo beans in this lentil soup. My husband asked me to get this and he wants to try other Progresso soups because he thinks they are the best. I think I may try adding a little vegetable stock base to the soup if I heat up two cans at a time. We also like the chicken noodle and the pot roast one. ~The Rebecca Review

This soup is sooooooo good! Love the taste, convenience and high protein. It is amazingly good over brown rice, white rice, or egg noodles. Please never discontinue the Mediterranean-Style Lentil!

You couldn’t ask for a healthier, tastier soup!

Lots of protein, plenty of fiber, lots of flavor, my only complaint is the level of sodium, it is manageable but if they could lower it a 5 star this would be.

Wow this is a boatload of food and I love it! It claims to be vegetarian but not vegan but I couldn't find anything in the ingredient list that was not vegan. It's great alone and you can pop off the lid and eat it as is, heated up or not. It's mostly lentils and chickpeas and I can add rice, barley, quinoa, and tomatoes or other vegetables for variety. Great to have on hand.

I know the pictures on the cans are made to look like the soup is thicker than it actually is. This picture though led me to believe that the tomato base was significantly more substantial than it was. There’s a huge difference between dark red (pic on can) and golden yellow (what I actually got). Maybe I got a bad batch but this soup has very little flavor.
