Can you use a heat gun to install it?

You cannot use heat gun to install this stuff. There are lots of how-to videos and instructions online. You will need a dilute soap solution and a rubbing alcohol solution in spray bottles and soft rubber tools you can buy online to install. Suggest you practice on some similar surface other than your car first. I did the top of my washer and dryer.
