I wanted to wait a couple months to make this review so that I can get the full feel for this bed. I am obsessed with the bedside bassinet. I have a 3-month-old and being able to keep her right next to me at night has made such a difference for feeding and my peace of mind. What sold me on this one is the breathable design — the entire thing, including the mattress, feels so safe. My baby loves it and sleeps really well in it, which is honestly the biggest win of all. Things I love: • Breathable mesh on all sides: I don’t have anxiety if she wiggles toward the edge, I can see her and she can breathe through it. • The mattress is actually comfortable but still firm and safe — so many bassinets have those stiff cardboard-feeling pads! • Height adjusts perfectly to my bed so I can reach her easily without sitting up. • Super sturdy — no wobbling when she moves. • Storage shelf underneath for swaddles, extra pajamas, and burp cloths so everything is right there during the night. A few notes: • It’s on the heavier side compared to some bassinets, but I’ll take sturdy over flimsy any day. • It’s a little pricier, but for me the safety and sleep we’re getting makes it 100% worth it. Overall, I love that I can soothe her, watch her breathe, and grab her quickly for night feedings without worrying she’s unsafe. If you’re a mom who wants baby close while still following safe sleep guidelines — this is perfect. I would absolutely buy it again!

I bought this about a year ago (my baby is turning one this month). It was GREAT. Perfect size for beside the bed, it also easily slid through doorways so I could bring it into the living room for nap time during the day. We used it until she outgrew it, then we handed it down to an expecting friend. We also traveled while she was still small and it was honestly very easy to disassemble and reassemble after the first time. I’m pretty paranoid and I definitely felt more at ease knowing it was “breathable” and honestly the money for Newton products is worth it, imo.

We absolutely love the Newton Baby Bassinet! The quality is amazing—very sturdy, well-made, and thoughtfully designed. Assembly was quick and easy, which was such a relief as new parents. Everything fit together perfectly, and it felt solid right away. Most importantly, my son slept so great in it. He seemed comfortable and secure, and it gave us peace of mind knowing he was sleeping on such a high-quality, breathable mattress.

My only regret about this bassinet is that we didn’t buy it sooner. It’s roomy, breathable, and light enough to pull close to the bed. Baby seems comfy on the mattress. The mattress cover itself can be removed and washed, which is helpful for spit up and other accidents that might go through the sheet. The height adjustment is great.

AMAZON PRICING: I was happier with the pricing on the Newton website. They do run sales. SIZE: this could be a pro or a con depending on your needs. While I do love the space for my baby to grow, it barely fits between my bed and the wall. Be sure to measure. I do, however, LOVE that my baby can use it as she grows! I wish they offered a big and a small size. BREATHABLE: WOW, SO IMPRESSIVE. Total peace of mind. Just amazing and such a blessing!!!! I am so happy with my purchase for this reason. The price is worth the peace of mind when you are so tired. It is true, however, that any liquid will go right through the mattress and pool at the bottom of the bassinet. I see this as a good thing, but it is not as absorbent as the newton crib mattress. STURDY: very study, love that it can be used for a longer time than most bassinets! ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: - the mattress cover is very tight. Probably for good reason to prevent bunching, but it is very difficult to zip on and off. - the mattress is quite thin compared to the mini Newton crib mattress we own. My baby prefers the thickness and comfort of the actual newton mattress compared to the bassinet. - the material of the bassinet is quite rough. My baby rubs her face against the side (which is awesome and breathable). It rubs her skin off of her cheeks. I wish it was the same material as the crib mattress. - not travel friendly. I hated putting it together. If I’m driving, I would rather pack my foldable mini crib and newton mini crib mattress… I saw some folks thought it was good for travel though so maybe it is just me! I think other bassinets on the market are easier to travel with, but I really wanted the other features of this bassinet.

It is a sturdy, well-made piece of furniture that fits perfectly at the correct height next to my bed. The Standout Features: • C-Section Friendly: The side that zips down is a lifesaver for post-partum recovery. Not having to lift a baby over a high rail in those early weeks makes a huge difference. • Design & Assembly: It is a beautiful piece of furniture; the grey fabric and wooden accents make it look high-end and like it truly belongs in a bedroom. My husband also found it not too difficult to put together. • Safety & Breathability: The mesh sides provide great peace of mind and excellent airflow. Room for Improvement: • Mattress Surface: The mattress could be more resilient. Even with a sheet, spit-up and leaks tend to seep through and spread, meaning you have to wash both the cover and the sheet every time. Having a backup set is absolutely essential. • Mobility & Storage: While sturdy, I do wish it had wheels to make it easier to move. It’s also missing integrated storage; a small basket or tray for diapers and wipes would be very helpful. Overall: I would definitely recommend this. It’s a high-quality bassinet that prioritizes both baby safety and mother’s comfort during recovery.

Maintenance is a breeze—it’s very easy to clean, which is a huge plus for us. Most importantly, our little girl sleeps so well in it. The adjustable height made it easy to match perfectly with our bed, and the zipper side is a game-changer.
