I use them not for gun claening, but to clean various tools when I need to access hard to reach ares, and for many other projects. In fact I used the flat end pick to help me get a stubborn 90 degree dryer vent fitting onto the exhaust vent pipe protruding from the wall. Handy tools all the way around. I ended up buying two sets for myself.

I own nine or ten Real Avid products, and I have always been impressed by the excellent design and build quality of their products. Every one of them would get five stars from me, and the brand is my go-to when I need tools for the home gunsmithing that I do. So I was a little disappointed when I received this pick kit and used it, because the picks are able to rotate inside the over-molded handles. In certain situations this limits the force that you can apply with the picks. The metal shafts should not be round or receive a knurled texture to prevent them from rotating inside the handles. I'm taking one star off for this design flaw.
