The strap is 1 1/2'' The buckle is 1 3/4 at the top and tapers to 5/8" at the clamp end. The overall length of the buckle is 1 1/2 " It's plastic but a very good clamp.

These are good suspenders, I was however a bit disappointed in the width of them as I put in ‘thin suspenders’ in my search bar. The clip for adjusting size on the front is rather large or thick as well. The clips make noticeable bulging through the shirts even when it’s one, two or even a hoodie. These are well made, just not what I was excepting, or looking for.
