Does this UPS keep the Li-On batteries charged to a healthy level (not 100%)? Any idea what the longevity of the unit is?

Mine shows fully charged when I test it. I would guess the unit will last 2 to 3 years.

Does this unit self protect from over-current on input 12vdc? i'd like to be able to directly connect to a 12vdc battery
