This magnificent book tells the story of a Ferrari 250 GTO with a particularly interesting and varied history. The car, chassis number 4153 GT, came fourth in its first outing at the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1963, and won the 10-day race-cum-rally Tour de France in 1964 with Lucien Bianchi and Georges Berger. It competed in almost every form of motorsport, including the Angolan Grand Prix, Africa in 1964, and endurance racing, hill-climbing and rallying in 1965, entered by the great Belgian team Ecurie Francorchamps. In 1966-69, it raced in Spain with owner Gerard Delgado and his friend Eugenio Baturone, a period that is described here for the first time. All this is covered in fascinating detail, supported by a fine collection of period photographs. Review: amazing collection of period photos - A brilliant history of such an iconic car. This particular car has such an interesting history, including winning the famous "Tour de France" Highly recommended to anyone seriously interested in classic Ferraris with an amazing collection of period photos, along with a nice chapter of current photos on the car. A much treasured adddition to my collection of car books. Review: Five Stars - Great book

Very special book on very special Ferrari 250 GTO
So much to enjoy in this book, from the exploits of such legendary drivers as Lucien Bianchi and Willy Mairesse to racing in Spain and even in Africa. Its Tour de France win and fourth place finish at Le Mans mean this is one of the most successful and important of all GTOs, and remarkably it competed for seven seasons which apparently is longer than any other GTO, making this a great subject for the Great Cars series. Keith Bluemel is the leading Ferrari authority and it shows in this book. Superb period photos. A fantastic gift or purchase for all Ferrari lovers.

Disappointing...sad to say
This one is nothing like as immersive as number Four in the series, about the 250GT SWB, 2119GT. That majored on the history of the car itself and was rivetting from front to back, with copies of letters between the factory and the owners and other fascinating reproductions. This one has far less about the subject car and is padded with (admittedly interesting) chapters about racing through the sixties. It's good but nothing like as good as number Four.
