Just what I needed. Soft but not too soft. Gets the job done...well.

I am a college student taking ceramics courses. I bought a kit of tools that included a metal rib and a wooden rib. The metal one was flexible but my prof would not allow its use as it becomes dangerously sharp. These silicone ribs were perfect for my needs and made for very smooth surfaces. I may have to buy them again because apparently my classmates liked them too. :)

A knock-off of the Rib made by MudTools, the most used tool in many potters’ tool boxes. While very similar to MudTools rib these are much more affordable. There are other imitations offered on Amazon, but I have found these to be the most flexible and interchangeable with MudTools red rib material. The only drawback to ribs like these is that they seem to disappear, usually in the slop or someone else’s tool box.

Giving this a 4, although I cant use them. Too small.

Love these ribs. Especially the little one, Its flexible enough to smooth the inside bottoms extremely well. I would order multiples of just the little one if I could.

Stiffer than mudd tools. Has a sharp edge, which is nice but may not last. Good for the time being and nice for the price.

I love these tools, they create beautifully smooth surfaces. I use them for shaping, after trimming, and making glaze application uniform after dunking with tongs. I thought they came in different sizes but they are both the same.
