I love this bottle. It’s a huge step up from my Brita filter bottle, being much better designed for long-term use and much more versatile. I’m a long-standing lifestraw fan because I hike and I cannot express how wonderful it is not to have to carry a whole weekend’s water or to use those awful purification tablets. This bottle is also a step up from the previous version, with a fully-sealed cap that allows me to put it in my bike cage on a splattery day without worrying the drinking valve will get dirty. I also particularly love the simple silicone valve that screws into the inner cap - MUCH better than the plastic Brita one, which quickly gets chipped and gunky - and it’s easy to remove and wash with a pipe brush. Two minor points to note: - while getting the dust cap on and off is easy, because of the large handle, getting the top of the bottle unscrewed for refilling is a challenge. It really needs grips or something; it’s just too smooth. It’s also easy to over-tighten it by screwing it on via the handle (which doesn’t work for unscrewing!). Best solution is a slightly damp hand, but people with less grip strength will have trouble. - the marketing videos all show people drinking from the bottle tilted up, as if it’s a gravity-valve. This will only get the filter clogged with air. To drink from it, keep the bottle vertical and drink it like from a straw.

Love life straw bottles. Although pricey its quality. I always find however that sometimes the lids are hard to unscrew. But I've noticed if you blow into the bottles at the same time you try carefully unscrew the lid out opens. Some sort of pressure thing.

The size (1L) was perfect for trekking and having enough water for the day or until you can find a water source. I used to use potabilizing tablets, but after few days of drinking treated water, I always got an upset stomach. From now on, this bottle will be coming with me on every adventure. Several times I have refilled the bottle with lake/river water that did not look in great condition (sediments, small bugs, algae...) and not once got sick or the water tasted off. I researched for days to try to find the best option for this kind of devices and finally decided to give a go to this one, and during my recent trip to Nepal, I found out that about 50% of the people trekking was using this same brand, on different models (lifestraw, CamelBak with lifestraw, etc.). It is true that you have to apply some pressure when sucking for the water to come out, but it is minimal and does not affect your experience. The filters are easy to remove, clean and replace, and all the materials are of high quality. Unintentionally I dropped the bottle couple times from quite a height, and other than some superficial scratches, nothing got damaged. I recommend 100% this item to all my fellow travelers.

I like this updated model, the lid is a lot better and stops a leakage. Easy to use and super handy when travelling to places that don't have access to clean water. It makes it taste better.

Does what I needed, but annoyingly a bit of water always leaks out the top unless its kept upright, which when hiking/travelling isnt going to be the case - hence the 3 stars. If that can be sorted them this would be excellent. Not cheap so I urge the manufacturer to redesign just that bit.

Aside from the aesthetic, which is beautiful, this bottle is great! I had been trying bottled water for a couple of months to see if it would make any difference to a number of factors (it did) before investing in a lifestraw bottle. I just wish I'd done it sooner! A few reviews on here talk about water backing up into the filter and pouring out of the straw... to this I would say read the instructions. You have to rinse the carbon filter for a minute before first use and also it says to blow through the straw when you finish drinking to preserve the life of the filter (I've only had the problem mentioned when I've forgotten to do this). I haven't had a migraine since switching to filtered water so for me (and soon every member of my family!) this purchase was well worth the investment.

Horrible nasty chemical taste and on the 4th day of using. Followed instructions and googled trouble shooting and still no improvement. To try and clear it I've been drinking and spitting it out but it's made no difference. Will give another few days and will return if no difference.

Convient parfaitement à l’usage décrit. Comme d’autres commentaires le signalent il faut succioner avec la bouche. Certains disent que c’est désagréable, moi ça ne me dérange pas, ça fait un peu biberon pour expliquer le ressenti. Montez pas dans l’avion avec le truc plein parce que ça déborde à cause de la pression, mais ça c’est pas un défaut, le fabricant ne cache pas que ça doit fonctionner comme ça à cause du filtre. Je recommande le produit, il est bien et l’eau n’a aucun goût, ce qui est le but de recherché.

Becomes slightly pressurised after filling and drips everywhere when you unscrew the lid unless you unscrew the whole top first. It’s pretty annoying.
