UV 400 protection wrap-around sun glasses go over prescription glasses - great for biking - 100% peripheral visibility &coverage
I ordered this ~$8 pair (medium?) the same day my brother bought a $42 pair of Cocoons (?) at an ophthalmology shop. We bike a fair bit, generally 20-40 miles at a time (ave. 17 - 18 mph in hills, decent clip for a 63 yo), several times or more a week, up to 40 mph downhills. We both needed shades. My brother and I both wear prescription glasses, his are tinted a bit, mine are not. My brother has ptergium in both eyes, a progressive eye problem worsened by sunlight & UV (and I expect, wind and drying of the eye), which definitely seemed to justify the nice/expensive over-the-glasses shades. I am merely photophobic, particularly when short on sleep, and my eyes tend to tear up in the cold or high wind, so I recommended the Coccoons for my brother, having seen them at the eye doc's, and having noted that they provided lateral protection from light AND allow him some peripheral vision through a window on the forward temple - this is a BIG safety factor when you are going down hill 40 mph on a bike, and you don't want to turn your head to see what is passing you and how close they are. He tried them on in the shop, said he liked them, and off we rode on our bikes. At the end of the ride I noticed that they were not square on his nose, but he still said he liked them and felt they were protecting his eyes from UV (he tends to be appreciative, good guy). Two days later, my$8 pair arrived, and that evening I had him try them on and pointed out how much better the peripheral vision was - there is NO corner post, or little temple window to look through... These $8 polycarbonate sun glasses have ZERO visual obstruction for peripheral vision (you can see this in the photos, if you look carefully), and better/more complete coverage for wind screening as well. (He bikes in the winter with ski goggles; I don't.) (Also, since the $8 pair are NOT polarized, you will NOT think you cell phone died in a panic, when you forget that you have your sunglasses on and the cell screen APPEARS black (due to the effect of two polarizing screens out of alignment). I've done this more than once... first time I didn't realize the issue was the sun glass's polarization!) So my brother was willing to give them a try, because the fit was good for him over his glasses (I think better than the Cocoons, but this may be entirely individual), they obviously improved peripheral visibility MUCH better, and actually gave better wind protection as it turned out, while he was riding. When he came back, he made these favorable comments, and I asked him if I should order another pair. Surprisingly, (only a bit - he is a philosopher), he had no reluctance to saying yes. - he clearly preferred the $8 pair to the $42 pair he bought a couple days before, for these reasons. But before ordering a second pair, I decided to try them myself on a bike ride, since I thought it might be possible they would not work as well on my head, or with my helmet, or with my glasses (and perhaps I might even want to arrange a swap for his expensive shades!). So today we took a quick ride down back roads from Verona, WI to Mt Horeb, WI and back (26 miles), and I wore my $8 wrap-arounds and he used his new $42. I was sure there would be a comfort penalty in putting a second pair of glasses on (3-D movies sometimes are intolerable, since I don't like glasses to sit down toward the end of my nose. The $8 pair fit perfectly with my helmet, and with the helmet it eliminated 100% of peripheral views of direct light. I was truly in the shade, the lenses were very sharp and clear (scratches are sure to happen over time, but polycarbonate IS tough as you will hear in a moment and there was no optical distortion - and I can tell, I'm a pilot who likes his corrections to be 20-15). The route we took had some very nice smooth roads, and a bit of bad washboard. By the time we hit the bad roads, I was already confident the sunglasses were quite secure, and indeed I did not have to adjust their positioning the entire ride... they did NOT shake or blow loose when I was in a tuck at high speed (38pmh) or looking down while riding over washboard surfaces. (I actually put them outside my helmet strap, and over the large handkerchief I used under the helmet to keep sweat out of my eyes, and bugs out of my ears... and they stayed put!) About 10 miles in we were riding the shoulder of a highway, I was drafting, about 1 foot off my brother's wheel, and we were cruising a pretty good clip, perhaps 20-22 mph, when he hit some stones with enough tar on them to throw a couple in my face, and one with a very sharp 'crack' on my new polycarbonate sunglasses. I'd not had a rock of this size ever get tossed that high, may not happen again, but today it saved my $540 prescription glasses (I have bilat. astigmatism, prism base-up on one lens, and 20-800 vision - fully corrected - expensive glasses). I can't find a mark on the polycarbonate - that's why they make bullet proof glass out of it. Anyway, really lucked out with my purchase - hard to say if this product fits everyone the way it fit us, but it sits very close to the lens of your existing glasses, and I think that helps with the comfort and fit, and the temple pieces are flexible enough for many sized/shaped heads, but do have a good grip around the back of the head- they leave the tops of the ears for your regular glasses, so that one doesn't ride up on the other. Again, I was expecting to pay a comfort penalty to wear sunglasses over my prescription glasses, but instead, I was unaware of them until the rock hit my lens, and when we took a water and stretch stop halfway, I realized my eyes were entirely relaxed, even though we were riding mostly west at 5pm. Years ago I used clip-ons (to avoid the feeling of a second pair), but they did nothing for peripheral light protection, and it is my understanding that it is peripheral light hitting the cornea and lens of the eye that often causes the eye damage we experience as we age. Mark, MD MPH MS FACPM (PS I have NO idea who makes these, seems to be a no-name, no-brand. I am getting no incentives to write this. But in my case, and in my brother's, this product was a really good buy! It is NOT the case that spending assures anyone of getting a better product. Shop smart: study the products, read the reviews critically. Send back what is substandard and write reviews.)

Maybe not the most Stylish, but work GREAT! Buying a 3rd pair.
Ok I was always one to buy giant bug-eye or aviator sunglasses and TRY to fit them over my glasses. That was always a little nightmarish and fugly looking. I am photophobic or whatever they call us that are sun sensitive with light colored eyes and a few medical issues. And I just got new glasses with larger plastic frames that unlike my old metal rimmed ones, did not work well with dept store shades. Then I found these. These I FELL IN LOVE with after the second time wearing them. Why not the first time? Because they just felt WEIRD. But they fit well, I can go around outside or drive and not even think about it, and they even work for me in harsh, evil big box store lights. Yup..I'm that creepy person with the dark shades on in Walmart at 3 am! ;) The edge is large so you don't have that peripheral glare or sun spike to the eye either. Why am I on my third pair? BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT TO BE WITHOUT THEM. And if one does break I don't want to be back trying to fit too small of sunglasses over my seeing glasses. I want a pair in the car, in the house etc. What SOLD me on them....I wear several different glasses for distance up close etc. and I usually wear a ball cap and keep them stacked atop my head, rather than setting them down somewhere. (And because bifocals do not work well for me tho I have those also) I was in the shade and had these on top of my stash of glasses on my head. I bent over and they fell off. NOTHING. I was ready to cry and NOTHING. Undamaged. Then while gardening I pulled the same stunt AGAIN! This time while reaching for my real glasses I knocked them off and they went FLYING...on CEMENT...and an arm popped off. (this was with force the way they went flying this time-about 6 ft away and from 6 ft in the air). I picked them up, again ready to just cry, expecting scratches and them being broken beyond all hope...but the arm popped right back on and they were like brand new! NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH! So...for something that is 6 bucks, (MUCH CHEAPER than dept store shades) allows me to wear my large plastic frame glasses under them without being uncomfortable AT ALL....blocks the sun from my sun hating eyes, and is not some WEIRD color of brown or blue, but just a darkening grey, I am HAPPY! That get's 5 stars in my book. RARELY if EVER do I come back and buy and second and then a third of ANYTHING unless its great. These, at least for my needs, are GREAT. Price is great, fit is great, durability is great. These COULD BE DARKER...I WISH THEY WERE DARKER, that is my only...meh, sort of complaint. But I am happy with them the way they are. As you can see my new pair..that had just arrived, I held up to a lamp while still in the bag they came in. That way you can sort of get a feel for how they are not SUPER dark, but dark enough. And if I look a little funky wearing them, I DON'T CARE! They are BIG. But this is not about LOOKS, this is about utility. And for less than 6.00....you just cannot go wrong here.

Inexpensive and effective
These are pretty good cover-up glasses. I would have like them to be much darker but they definitely take the edge off while driving. They fit well over my prescription glasses, but the finish on the earpieces is irritating. The flash was not smoothed out as good as it could have been and the earpiece seems a bit short for me. Not terrible, but I would not want to wear them all day.

Very cheap, non-polarized lenses. Great for late night computer work or driving
These are very cheap sunglasses. Examining the construction, that's the primary take-away. The hinge mechanism is two plastic protrusions that fit into two holes in the front section. That's it. Also they are not what I'd call stylish. Having said that, this is exactly what I need. I put them on in the evening when I use my computer in a dark-ish room so I don't blow my eyes out and throw off my circadian rhythm. They are perfect for this: 1. They are not polarized. This is good in this context because monitor light is polarized as well so tilting your head in polarized glasses dramatically cuts or increases the light coming through. Not a problem with these glasses. This is also relevant when using a phone.. 2. Coverage is very good. they don't let much light in the sides. And they fit over glasses really well. Good for this and also for driving. They are also pretty comfortable. At least, on my head. 3. They are cheap and easily replaced. This is important for someone like me who loses and breaks sunglasses a lot. I will be buying more (to replace the ones I lose and break). ==== Edit ===== After using them a while longer, I feel like they pinch my nose a little too much. I don't usually wear them for very long periods, so I would still buy the same thing if replacing them, but they certainly could have been made more comfortable in the nose region.

Something I need
I have to buy a new pair of these about once a year. They are quite durable, but need to be protected from scratching the cover the hole, frontal eye area, including your prescription glasses inside. Very good for people with sensitive eyes all the area peripherally and in front are shaded so you donโt have any issues with bright sunshine.

Great for migraines
Great for migraines. They're definitely not winning any fashion awards though! I use them at work when the fluorescent lights and my computer screens start to trigger a migraine. They fit easily over my regular glasses and don't obstruct my vision. They just make everything less bright and painful.

Full prescription frame coverage for most users.
Product as described, and works well over my prescription glasses without being too heavy or bulky. I have more expensive Polarized over glasses for driving and general use, but prefer these non-polarized sunglasses for lawn and yard work. Will see how well these hold up over the coming summer months.

lots of positives but some negatives
the positives are quick prompt delivery. not polarized lenses...what this means is I can still read the LED/light readouts on my dashboard of my car, my cellphone and various other electronic media for which sometimes polarized lenses will wash out some electroluminscent images. the other positive these sunglasses are large, huge..larger than the ones you get from the optometry office when you get your eyes dilated. This large size allows them to readily and easily fit over your existing glasses with no problems. Note, I have large existing glasses. The other positive is that they give you complete coverage from the sun from all around/wrap around coverage is great. The negative is quality control...I recieved my not fully assembled. I had to force the bottom pins into the frame until they snapped in. Moreover, there were scratches on the side of my frame that were disfiguring. Luckily the vendor and amazon where understanding and I got my money back with no problems. Otherwise, take a risk if you have any problems, amazon's service is great in assisting in such.
