Great monitor - great deal - easy on the eyes for coding - recommend
Great monitor - good resolution, easy on the eyes, and just that extra sideways space that's super helpful. Half price of similar others, was sceptical but happy I have it a shot (and the size is just right) NOTE: MAC: On MacBook Pro the HDMI connector doesn't support this high a resolution and looks weird when you first connect it. You have two options: a) can make HDMI support it but need to take it down from 60hz refresh rate to 30hz: need to install custom software that modifies the built in resolutions, or b) give up on HDMI and go to usbc (much more built in support.. so put the lower res monitor on hdmi) NOTE: VESA: my VESA mount didn't fit and had to be filed down - after that it was able to connect. And if you hook up vesa with regular screws the decorative piece doesn't fit anymore. went back to included stand and it's fine.

Buyer Beware - product failure & the worst support
SUMMARY: Originally loved this monitor, worked well until it didn't. The USB-C connector failed, making it challenging to work with my set up and peripherals. Product support is HORRIBLE - so if you device has an issue you are likely on your own/losing out on the money you invested in the purchase. I wanted to give this 2 stars as the Monitor was great until the USB-C port failed. I have a work around but picture quality has suffered. 1 star due to horrible support ( can't be reached and when you do they do not follow through on any actions). Looks like your money can be better invested in other alternatives *will update if/when DecoGear support responds --------------------------- THE GOOD: - PRICE: I did a lot of research - this was the best option at a great price point that provided a curved monitor / built in hub / monitor size / picture quality - SIZE: the 40 inch was a perfect option and fits my set up well. - BUILT IN HUB: The monitor has a built in hub and additional power out options, making it ideal for connecting and integrating multiple devices and peripherals. I aim for a minimalist desk set up with fewer / hidden wires and this helped a lot toward that end --------------------------- THE BAD: - TECHNICAL FAILURE: About 2-3 months into owning the monitor, I began to have issues with my devices connecting into the USB-C port on the monitor hub. This was my primary connection and provided the best picture / resolution from my devices. - SUPPORT: Horrible all around - It is near impossible to get a human on the phone or engaged in a chat. After a long effort I was able to make progress and they agreed to send replacement monitor when it was back in stock, they said to expect it within a month and it has been over 6 months now....can't seem to get them back on the phone or in chat after MULTIPLE attempts since they promised to send replacement (note: I would have to ship monitor I have now back - so if you do make purchase save the box it came in just in case)

Totally recommend
Best money I have spent on anything computer. I bought it just a few months ago. Not sure of the screen quality, I think it’s great. The size is amazing. For that alone, I recommend it. The only issue I have had is every time I stand up from my chair, it goes black for a few seconds. Every time. Apparently this is common with this brand and many others. Static electricity causes it. That happened on carpet and does not seem to do it on a wooden floor. Sound is horrible, but I don’t use it for sound.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the text sharpness
The build quality of this monitor is not very good. Compared to the Samsung monitor I bought, it feels a bit lightweight and not solid. However, the display quality of this monitor is exceptionally good. Especially for my office work and coding, the text display is extremely clear and effortless to read. The text appears slightly bolder than on my previous monitor, and the refresh rate is a bit higher, which makes viewing more comfortable. I like this monitor because its height is more suitable. The resolution is 5120x2160, while my previous monitor was 3440x1440, which felt too short. But 2160 is just right. This way, I can use the Picture By Picture function with my two computers very comfortably. Overall, I am very satisfied with this monitor. ======== Update after 27 days. I found the monitor will have some high frequency noise sound, like the old TV when it has bad signal. The sound will gone after a while, not sure why

Excellent productivity display for an incredibly reasonable price.
Previously used an LG 40" 40WP95C ultrawide very much like this for a work setup, which I picked up about four years ago for over THREE TIMES the price of this display, and it remains in that price tier even to this day. This thing is nearly the exact same spec, except you could buy THREE OF THESE for the same amount of money. It benefits from 2160 (not 1440) resolution and larger physical size than most gaming displays, for the sake of productivity and having lots of documents and apps running side by side. If you want fast refresh rates or perfect color reproduction, you're looking at the wrong item. Using this thing for gaming is like buying a pickup truck for racing on a go cart track. Size and resolution are the selling points here, not refresh rate or perfect color. It's great for multiple windows side by side at the same time, while still maintaining text legibility and being able to read everything with a minimum of switching, zooming or scrolling. If there's a lot of data to deal with on a really wide spreadsheets, you can still see the whole thing without going blind or wearing out your scroll wheel. Not sure what the people who're using this for gaming are on about. Deco Gear also makes gaming monitors with higher refresh rates and lower resolutions that are suited for that. A majority of games aren't even designed with this kind of high native resolution in mind either. But if you like low-refresh 5K gaming, then you do you I guess. I do games on an actual gaming monitor. I actually picked up a second one of these to add it to the work setup. At this price, why not? This thing is a bargain.

It was good until it wasn't!
UPDATE: Deco support finally responded properly after the third attempt and sent a replacement. First of all, ignoring the reliability issues, I should start by saying that the product as a whole is great for its price, alternatives from brands like Dell and LG would cost you at least 2 times as much. However, the reliability of this project is a major set back. I used it for about 6 months then it started to flicker after a few hours and show vertical strips no matter to what PC or cable it is connected to and what settings it has. The customer service does not respond properly (e.g., asking for something you already included in your ticket or asking something new every time) and they close the ticket after one day if you don't respond. Picture quality is OK although not impressive. The colors accuracy is good for office work. Brightness is meh. The picture somehow looks better on Windows than Mac even after tweaking settings. So go for this product if you are OK with bare minimum of a 40" 5k2k ultrawide otherwise my advice is to spend more to get a quality product. PS: the flickering you see in the video is not because of the camera, it actually looks like this now after several hours of usage (maybe once the panel gets too hot)!

Too big, can't control brightness with HDR, gave me a headache
I'm still going to give this 5 stars because it would be a great monitor for SOMEONE. Just not me. My desk isn't huge, about 4 feet wide, 2.5 feet deep, monitor was LOOMING over me with how close I had to have it, even in the corner of the desk. Monitor is VERY bright. Brightness cannot be controlled with HDR on, and monitor looks horrible with HDR off. Looks OK with HDR on but extremely bright. When you turn HDR on the monitor's own setting for Brightness is grayed out. I do have a graphics card and computer that should be fine for this monitor, GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6, on a Lenovo Legion T5 Tower with AMD Ryzen 9 7950X. Even if there's some setting I missed and this can be dimmed with HDR, is still too big to use on a normal size desk. This monitor would probably be great for a budget gamer who wanted to play multiplayer games with 1 or more friends in person, with this set up in a living room or basement, so you could get 5 to 10 feet back from it. Mounted on wall would work and it comes with a universal stand adapter. Would also be good as a TV in a waiting room for a doctor's office, or for displaying frequently updating data (like flight times) somewhere in public. But I returned it.

Serious Pixel and Flickering Issues — Needs Constant “Stuck Pixel Fix” Videos
I really wanted to like this monitor. The specs look great on paper — 40”, 5K2K, Nano IPS, HDR10 — but the real-world experience has been a headache. Literally. Every time the screen stays idle for a few minutes, I come back to aggressive pixel flashing, dead or stuck pixels, and vertical stripes that make text nearly unreadable. Dark backgrounds are the worst: the pixels blink so hard they’re physically uncomfortable to look at. To get the monitor usable again, I have to run those YouTube “Stuck Pixel Fix” videos constantly. They take forever and don’t fully solve the issue. Even on a “good day,” the screen still shows distortion and flickering. On a bad day, it’s borderline unusable. I’ve owned many monitors over the years and I’ve never seen one degrade this quickly or behave this unpredictably. This level of instability just isn’t acceptable. If you’re considering this monitor, be aware that these flickering pixel issues are not minor — they affect daily use and cause real eye strain. I wish I didn’t have to write this, but the product has been a major disappointment. The video and photo I’m posting show what the screen looks like on a good day. This isn’t even the severe flickering — I never manage to record the worst moments because they usually happen while I’m working, and I’m forced to fix it quickly just to keep using the monitor.
