The ISDT 608PD charger has been an excellent addition to my FPV gear. It’s compact, powerful, and very easy to use. The interface is clean and responsive, and the display gives clear real-time information, which makes charging and monitoring batteries simple and stress-free. Charging performance is impressive — fast, accurate, and reliable. It handles different battery types smoothly, and the balance charging is precise. The USB-C power input is also a big plus, making it very convenient for both home use and charging in the field. Build quality feels solid and well designed, and it runs efficiently without unnecessary heat or noise. It’s small enough to carry anywhere but still delivers serious charging power. I actually purchased two of these chargers because the first one worked so well. That alone says a lot about how reliable and dependable it is. Overall, this is a high-quality smart charger that delivers great performance in a compact package. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a reliable and efficient charger for their batteries. I also have another charger for my camera batteries all 3 chargers can be managed via the mobile app.

[First off pardon the quality of photos as the Pixel 7 recent camera updates by incompetent Google made camera behavior unpredictable.] This little charger, and it it little indeed (!) smaller than Q6 Nano and hardly bigger overall than PD60, amazes with its capabilities but also ISDT amazes with what seems to be undercooked thinking that hopefully will improve with firmware updates. The EXPECTED: a typical 6S balance charger, albeit with a slightly confusing 3-button controls. More on that later. The GOOD: It takes up to 140W usb-c power with the appropriate adapter and cables (the cable needs to be rated as you can see in one photo I have 60w cable in the 140w plug delivering just that 60w to the charger). 608PD automatically recognizes the maximum PD capabilities and helpfully displays that. Note: it won't do PD via USB-A equipped power adapter. It seems to require USB-C to USB-C connection. It also seems to be very efficient as a brief test to do 100w charge didn't trigger the fan at all. It pairs beautifully with ISDT own Power200X AC charging station that has one 140w PD port. The AMAZING: It doubles as a LiPo checker as you can plug in a battery and see the voltage of each cell without the need to power up the charger. A feature looooong overdue in our hobby. It also doubles as a XT60 to USB-C PD power converter and supply. I am typing this review on a laptop running off a large 5s pack and I can see the current as well as combined power consumption and it has over discharge cell protection. The NOT so AMAZING: User interface is different from standard ISDT Q-series and not in a good way. It's just plain confusing. I started charging while intending to change parameters and vice versa. You also have 5 presets to program but simply changing charge current is a pain and can't be done before each charge cycle without editing the preset. This unnecessary departure from the proven UX of other recent ISDT balance chargers. There doesn't appear to be a way to charge LiIon cells (whyyy!!???), but I used at my own risk LiPo more and lowered voltage to 4.1v. The cell resistance also doesn't seem to work. The values stay blank throughout the charging process. Finally the most surprising is the charger doesn't recognize that a 5s pack is plugged in and tries to run a 6s preset and throws and error code at you. It also allows to accidentally start a charge (remember the confusing UX?) without having a battery attached at all and would run the charge cycle for a few seconds before realizing the error. Final thoughts: This is going to be a keeper, to go along with a pair of 4s PD60, a pair of Q6nano, an Air8, and a Q8max, but given the confusing UX and unhelpful quirks I'm going to stick to one unit for now.

The ISDT 608PD is an excellent little charger and has become my go-to for field use. It’s perfect for a backpack setup because it’s compact, reliable, and incredibly convenient. The fact that it runs off USB-C makes powering it in the field super easy—no bulky power supplies required. It delivers solid performance for its size and works exactly as expected. The only downside is that it doesn’t support storage charging, which would have made it even more versatile. But even with that limitation, it’s still a fantastic portable charging solution. Highly recommended for anyone who needs a lightweight, on-the-go charger.

The first question is how does the 608 compare to the nano, given they seem the same, do the same primary function (charging), same size, and lastly why do both exist? I have both units. I started with the Nano since it seemed like a lot of bang for the buck, had many functions, had a nice display, and would handle all my various charging needs. However, a product has to be usable regardless of it’s value and functions. The user interface of the nano, the three way toggle switch, is so horrible that it renders the product unusable (unless you have extreme patience) to the extent that I was just going to throw it into the lake. Then I stumbled across the 608, which seemed the same as the nano and sold at the same price. After some study, I decided to take a chance on the 608, particularly since it didn’t have the awful three way toggle. I quickly found that the 608 is a superior product, with a usable user interface (uses the separate buttons instead of the awful 3 way toggle) and worked perfectly for all my charging needs (as did the nano if it was usable). The differences between the 608 and the nano are that the nano has more functions beyond charging (which are only of value if you need them!). The documentation for the 608 is marginal with the tiniest print possible but the documentation for the nano is much worse. With the 608, you can have a number customized charging profiles (like for 6S, 5S, 2S with differences parameters). Plus the 608 has a smartphone app interface so that you can monitor it’s charging from a distance which actually works. The nano has no such interface. You can power the 608 from a usb c supply (for modest current and voltage needs). However, I use the a separate Blomiky battery balancer display sold here on Amazon which is very nice and also will balance cells on it’s own and also discharge cells. I also use the little yueton Lipo Battery Voltage Test and Alarm modules for monitor cell voltages during pack use. The main fault of both units, aside from the documentation, is that there is only one balancing input to handle all sizes of packs. This is understandable given the small size of the units, but it would be nice if they included a balancer breakout board (although you can buy one of these for under $5). So, bottom line, BUY THE 608 unless you need the other functions (discharge, storage, etc.) of the nano. Why ISDT makes both of these chargers is beyond me (just combine the two units and drop the three way toggle switch)

Went to charge some batteries tonight and smelled a burning plastic smell. Fearing it was a lipo I discovered that actually something in the charger malfunctioning. The smell of burning plastic is what is most noticeable. Had the charger a little over one month.

I have been using this to charge lipo and li-ion packs at up to 140watts and it has not smoked yet I would keep an eye on it when in use. the USB-C output is useful. it has charged a 24cell 18650 304wh pack 10 times now at 5 amps in about 2.5 hours so that a good charging speed. and seams to do an ok job keeping the cells in check for battery life. the cell voltage is to the tenth and Ir page dose not seem to work right but mine wights in at 87g and I plan to use it to charge my 6S3P 18560 li-ion pack to power a CPAP on a long hike.

Very compact! Works fairly decently and I was even able to use the phone app to monitor the charging process. Do beware, it does not come with a way to power the charger so I purchased a USB-C power supply alongside it.

This one is very useful in the field. You can cycle 3 batteries and fly as many minutes as you want.

USB C PD input makes this charger very flexible and handy to use on the run, especially with higher power capable USB C PD powerbanks. My version came with updated firmware allowing storage charge functionality (no discharge but can set charge limit to 3.8V for example).

Cant get it to work with my lipo batteries for my airsoft, no much detail or explanation on how the charger actually works , could be user error but if I'd knew before I'd never have wasted my time on this charger

This is a simple balance charger. I use it for LiPo batt. It charges only, no other options. Good for up to 6s, 10amps. Handy to have as a backup. The interface is a bit quirky.
