Not bad but could've been better.
It's not quite as good as the first one. It's still a good watch, but I think the first one was better.

Incredible sequel
Director James Cameron has a reputation for attention to detail and perfection in his movies. This sequel certainly has all of this. This film is incredible. Particularly outstanding for me is the amazing water effects. Much of the movie was themed on water (hence the name) and I couldn't tell what was computer generated or the real thing. It was so impressive to watch. Cameron waited until the technology was available to him to create such realism (one reason for the film's delay) and it certainly delivers. Not everyone liked the run time of over 3 hours but I enjoyed all of it, no problem for me. The story could have been shorter but with such impressive visuals it was a feast for the eyes. If you liked the original and are an Avatar fan then you won't be disappointed. It's the usual good against bad and reaches a climax featuring a major battle, nothing unusual there, but it does feature different tribes and some wonderful marine creatures. The 3rd installment is due at the end of next year so expect more of the same thing and there's nothing wrong about that.

Techno rubbish sequal
Gosh, not worth paying for. First Avatar was mind blowing in its day. This one is a poor equal, which is far to violent which takes away any beauty created under water. The RDA was supposed to resume mining Unobtainable, which is a reasonable assumption. But it's not, it's total violent action film on a Sci fi planet. The glory of Pandora is totally destroyed by deploying Jake and Co with sub machine guns. Awya was no where this time, only the whale provided the past closeness. The cute young girl with her bright yellow fishy type friends pwas very cute. Cheated that Parker and Grace had a couple of minutes on set. Unlike the first, won't be buying the bluray. Winslet deserves credit where credit is due, but the none exsistant story, which should be all about p} The RDA travelling back a long time, to renew their quest for the minerals is completely lost in a vendetta against Jake. Dissapointing, and in some parts clones the first Avatar. As one poster mentioned somewhere, kids being thrown around like dolls is also what bought the films reputation into questions being asked about filmed abuse of children by armoured soldiers even if they were Na'vi, just makes me think of the kids suffering in Ukraine. You can't get away from the fact, this is an invasion iof someones indigenous home, and has in many scenes current memories of persecuted races and their children doesn't go down well. Unfortunate timing yes, but Cameron should have realessed this year's ago. Ikrans are the most gorgeous creatures invented. I fly my own in Second Life, but for peaceful pursuits not used for killing. I rest my case, some will think different, that is democracy, but for me Cameron crossed the line, so for me, the love affair I had With Avatar is finished.

A TRULY OUTSTANDING VISUAL SPECTACLE
Must admit like many i'm sure, I wondered when after all these years when we'd finally get to see the sequel to the visually excellent first 'Avatar' movie...well the time has come, remembering the first was way back in 2009....was it worth the wait ?.....100% yes, couldn't take my eyes off it, visually stunning, with amazing special-effects coupled with the build-up to it's exciting, action-packed conclusion. Sixteen years have passed, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) once human has become a true respected leader of thge tree-people 'The Omatikaya clan' and is married to the former chiefs daughter Zoe Saldaรฑa as Neytiri, together they have three children along with an adopted daughter and human-child Spider (Miles) Since vanquishing the Sky-People from Pandora they have lived in peace....however, the Sky-People return with a vengeance, among them a group turned Avatar lead by the ruthless Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) with one directive...KILL Jake Sully. Jake to protect his family decides to take them across the seas to a group of Islands too seek santuary. The Chief of the Metkayina clan respecting Jake, allows the family nto intgrate into their way of life, it'll be a tough ask for Jake's family, they have to learn and respect 'The Way of Water'....which in time they do, however, failing to find Jake in the Omatikaya territory, the colonel and his force look further a field.....war is coming for Jake's family and their adopted friends of Metkayina clan.0 A truly GREAT WATCH
