Are these really thin? Need a sock that will fit in my boots that are tight with thick socks.

Yes, these are definitely thinner than all of my other wool socks. I too was looking for a thinner and less bulky sock for some of my dressier winter shoes. I really love these and I bought a second set. I would suggest for you to try them, but make sure they are returnable in case you do not like the fit.

My socks now cause my feet and ankles to sweat, which then causes itchiness; how are these with sweat/itching?

I have not had an issue with sweating. I love these socks, I reach for them over my Niki, or other socks in my drawer

Are these socks smooth or do they have ridges

They are smooth inside and out.

Do they slouch over the course of a day?

Wear them for about 12 hours a day. Not had any problems with them slouching.
