Much better than my Hoover Power dash Pet!
We bought this shampooer after the Hoover power dash pet one died. After taking it apart we realize there was a flaw in that design and allowed water to get into the motor. So we purchased this one and was quite surprised at how much more solution it held! Especially since it wasn't very much bigger than the Hoover. The carry handle is in the perfect spot in the middle making it easy to lift. The solution container is a really great size for this size of shampooer. And the waste container actually holds quite a bit as well. Our Hoover didn't even hold the amount of solution that was put out which seemed really odd. This one also will stand on its own so that you can fill it. It won't leak either. My old one had a tiny hole to allow air to come in to push the solution down so I had to plug my finger over the hole while I filled it up and then put solution in. That was a huge pain. This one I just said it in the sink I fill it up and put the solution in. Dumping the dirty solution is SO much easier than our old one! I can actually dump this in the toilet and don't make a mess! One of the major pluses of this one over the Hoover that we had is the ability to clean the waste tank. Cleaning the Hoover was a nightmare. I had to take it outside and use a hose and still could never get it fully clean. This one actually has a large cap on the bottom of it that you can unscrew to remove a section of it and I can fully clean it out very easily. This is such a huge plus because anytime there is even a little bit left in our old one it would start to stink very quickly. Now on to the cleaning. Get ready to see some black water! I was absolutely shocked at how well this pulled dirt and pet hair out of our rugs. We do not have carpet so we have area rugs and runners. This does a fantastic job of cleaning it. The attachment for the upholstery cleaner is way easier than our old one however I wish it had a rotating brush and a little bit of a wider head so that it could suck more solution up. I do wish that you could take the entire plastic front off to clean pet hair that has stuck to the front of it. There is one section that pops off but I find that hardly anything even gets in there. It's still easier than my old one though. My old one I had to take it outside and hose it out. With this one I wait for the pet hair to dry then I flip it over and unscrew the section for replacing the belt that way it loosens the brush. Then I can just use my finger to wipe out the now dry pet hair. You can do this wet but I find it yucky so I wait for it to dry because all the hair just sticks together and it doesn't feel gross. Then I just reattach that little section with the two screws. It is on the noisy side but I have yet to find a shampooer that is not noisy. But it's not so noisy that I need to wear at earplugs or anything. There is very little water leakage when you turn it off. Most shampooers allow some of the dirty water to come back out because it hasn't gone fully up the tube. This one has very minimal water dripage. Would definitely by again.

Bissell TurboClean Pet XL Cleaner #3746
Wow: Iโm way more impressed with this carpet cleaner than I thought I would be. I live in a small apt with only indoor/outdoor carpeting. Plus I have a cat. Iโve lived here seven years. I planned to get Stanley Steamer in here, but that would only be a one off. I need to be able to keep up with things. I wasnโt sure this would handle the whole apt. I thought it might be just for spots and messes. So far, itโs doing a very good job. Very easy to set up and use. Took me a bit to get the motion right, but I improve with each use. Itโs not very heavy which I appreciate. One thing to be aware of: you go thru the solution rather quickly. Guess I have to expect it with using it for the whole apt. The solution has a mild odor; a nice surprise. You do have to fill and empty frequently which is kind of a pain, so bear that in mind.

COULDN'T WAIT!
I was going to wait to write a thorough review, ive had this thing about 24 hours, and it is AMAZING! I Had the small one before this and the XL is definitely worth it, the suction is so much better. It covers so much more space and the attachment is outstanding. I can tell you all day but think it better I just show you. As soon as it let's me upload pics .. 10 out of 10

A Heavy-Dury machine, with a few quirks
This machine is OK. That's about all I can say. Well, It's a Work-horse... a heavy-duty cleaner. But it takes some getting used to. It is not like the Eurek I was used to. First, when you pull the trigger, it puts out... big time. You have to learn to be light on the trigger. Secondly, the brush is aggressive... and you can't shut it off like you could on my previous one. It lacks a little in the carpet drying capacity, leaving the carpet a little on the wet side. And if you clean often (as I do with pets) it stresses the carpet pile. Furthermore, loose carpet fibers and pet hairs accumulate in the brush cavity and have to be removed by hand WHEN THE UNIT IS SHUT DOWN. I park it on vinyl floor, and if I do not dry-run it for a while after finishing cleaning, it drains onto the vinyl floor, requiring regular mopping. It has some chubby little feet that protrude from the bottom to lift the brush off the carpet when in the upright position... which is GOOD, protecting the carpet when cleaning upholstery, etc. Yet sometimes those little feet are slow in retracting when carpet cleaning is resumed, leaving the water in the carpet for a pass to two. Do I recommend it? --Yes, if you want a workhorse of a carpet cleaner... and are willing to live with its quirks. My previous brand had quirks, too... but they were entirely different. I'm still looking for the "perfect" machine... but the ones at the local rent-shop are not it!

Best rug shampooer I've used
I have rented many "rug doctor" industrial shampooers and this one works better than any of them! The attachment it comes with is great for furniture, vehicles, corners, etc, and gets deep stains from kids and pets out and doesn't leave the carpet soaked, and when you're done using it, it comes apart very easily to clean and is cheaper than what you pay in stores and if you rent them often you will definitely get your money's worth. Comes pretty much assembled so is easy to use right out of the box and is easy to use! Have used this a dozen times so far and has held up great with no issues.

Actually makes more mess than it cleans. Buy literally anything else.
Nothing about this works the way it should, and I'm livid I spent almost $200 on this pile of garbage. Notes on why as follows: -Dirty water tank doesn't actually hold a seal; if you don't empty it literally the minute you're done it will redeposit all of it right where it's sitting. Have fun grabbing a drink of water and coming back to a nasty new puddle on your floor. (No, this wasn't a one-time "maybe I just did seat it right" problem. It simply doesn't hold the liquid. I've taken to setting it in a large tray while I work so if it drains while I'm spot cleaning, at least it's contained) -the spray function on the handheld spot cleaner attachment worked only twice. Want to dispense cleaning liquid? Detach, use the system in the classic vacuum way to dispense, reattach the hose, and carry on. -Cleaning fluid reservoir spontaneously drains entirety of its contents all at once. Delightful waste of whatever product you're using while also making a new area to have to suction dry. -Only the hose actually picks anything up. Tried doing the living room, noticed the dirty reservoir was suspiciously empty. Doing that much area with the spot cleaner attachment? Horrendous waste of time. But leaving that much damp carpet to just air dry and hole for the best? Also not good. -connection between hose and body frequently unseals. So as you spot clean an area, a small fountain of dirt water is just pooling out underneath the vacuum body. This, coupled with the inability of the dirty reservoir to actually contain the dirty water, makes for a beyond terrible experience if you're, say, cleaning up after a pet has had an accident on your carpet. You now have urine in TWO places, mixed with plenty of liquid carrier and being given extra time to soak further in to your carpet, the pad, and the concrete underneath. Have fun getting rid of the smell now that it's set that deep. This piece of garbage can and will double the problem or worse. You're better off just trying to soak out as much as you can with a towel and dousing the area with some kind of cleaning product like back in the day before we had these types of appliances. Considering Bissell is supposed to be a major name in this space, I'm thoroughly disappointed and honestly never going to trust another one of their products again. A harbor freight knockoff would likely be more reliable.

Itโโs the best ever!
Nice carpet cleaner! We have had other carpet cleaners, some twice the price. None of them has compared to the cleaning this BISSELL did quickly on our heavily stained Berber carpet without saturating it! Fast clean, fast dry time!

Warps easily no suction from day one
I put 5 stars on the chance people will actually get to read this and know how truly horrible this carpet cleaner is. From day one it dumped an entire bucket of cleaner on my carpets and didn't suction anything. It did however throw sopping wet black stuff all over my carpet and my jeans. Thank goodness I wasn't wearing shorts! I don't have a black haired pet so I have no idea where this stuff is coming from but it happens everytime I try to use it. It then smears the black stuff across the carpet in streaks as you move. I tried all the trouble shooting and finally got it to work once, for one room before it lost suction again and started spewing wet goopy stuff everywhere again. I then used the upholstery attachment on several occasions to clean spots. The thing drips constantly but for the most part worked as a spot cleaner. The problem is the heat stays on when you use the upholstery cleaner. The base is sitting on the carpet just heating up constantly. That warped the plastic so now it won't get any suction at all when using the large, most important part. Save yourself the trouble and buy a portable spot cleaner. That is all this XL machine is good for and it's not great at that. I also contacted customer service and the seller but got no response.
