This deck of divination cards was inspired by Madame Adelaide Lenormand, a well-known psychic at the time of the French Revolution, and was first realized in the late 1700s. Keeping with the tradition of the clear and consistent symbols of that time, these nostalgic oracle cards can yield practical advice applicable to today’s world and can lead to your finding well-defined and concise answers to your most puzzling questions. 36 Lenormand cards (plus three additional cards for Alternate Man, Woman, and Child) are included. To enhance your reading skills with this deck, look for its companion guide, The Art of Lenormand Reading, sold separately. Box contains 39 Lenormand art cards. Review: Nice cards & Nice Price - Playing cards size, vintage look, gold edges with a smooth feel. I purchased it, because I was on a budget and the price was perfect. I also wanted to buy magical cards that helped you with your questions. I suggest once you receive you cards you give them a slight bend in the middle so they can unstick. Since they are new they come stuck together. I hope you understand this. Now all I have to do is learn how to read these cards :( Review: Good quality Cards. - I love ❤ the way they shuffle. Very easy to connect with. The box top was way too thick. Getting the box open took some trial and error. But no biggie. Some have had something to say about the images. My position is even if just the word was printed, the cards would still perform the same way. What I care about is my ability to feel like I can shuffle them smoothly

Lovely images, odd production choices
This is a lovely set of Lenormand cards. I really enjoy the 18-19th century vibe, the images are clear and not cluttered, so they are easy to read. The card stock is stiff as heck, like small slabs of cardboard. The box is also stiff and sturdy, not a bad thing generally, except it is a tad to small for the cards, so you have to jam them in when you want to use the box fully. Also, the busy image of the box top is replicated on the card backs, which makes them look odd. The gilding on the sides is good, and has not flaked off so far, which is better than most. All in all, I am glad I have these cards, because the images are truly lovely and they read quite well. I do wish more thoughtful choices were made for the card stock and back images. On the plus side, these are some darn sturdy cards, good for travelling.

MY FAVORITE "GO-TO" LENORMAND DECK
Absolutely fabulous deck! The accurate and delicate artwork is true to the 'simplicity and spirit of the original deck' making it easy to recognize and read. And the gilded edge cardstock is sturdy, pliable and an absolute breeze to shuffle, especially for shufflers like me who use the 2 thumb method of shuffling. In addition, the size of the cards and their pliability make it easy for just about anyone to hold and handle, even with small hands like mine. I couldn't be more pleased!

Mostly rather good. Poor quality control.
I know that some people like double numbers - in both the upper left and upper right corners of the card. Are they using the cards to play card games? I understand four indices on playing cards, so that the cards don't have to be turned over, and are suitable for both left and right handed players. But Lenormand cards only matter once they are laid out - with no overlapping cards, right? Aren't the numbers mostly for learners and confusingly imaged decks? Double so blatantly at the top seems redundant and condescending. I am rather fond of the classic monograms on older designs, but if that seems too old-fashioned or twee, leave the second number disk out. Design the image to use that area, if it works. Of course, this deck couldn't shape the image to fit the space, because the images seem to have been grabbed haphazardly from all over. Some bleed (extend over the edges of the card) some are little clip-art placeholders that the compiler apparently left in out of frustration. I particularly like the little gazebo that I read as "garden" but turns out to be the image for "tower." Oh - and the fountain that has me sitting there wondering what fountain represents - it's "garden" actually. Then there's the "bees" card, that on closer study reveals clover among the bees. Does that help one with reading? I guess with the recent die-offs of bee populations, having bees may be just as lucky as clover. Where this deck clearly falls down is on quality control: box mis-sized: I laid a long ribbon in the box bottom before inserting the cards and putting the lid on so the ends of the ribbon hang out - pull on the ends and the lid lifts off and the cards lift out - without the ribbon you are slapping and tugging and risking damaging cards. But then, my cards came damaged anyway: the corner cutter mangled every single corner of every single card - some lightly, some more so, many with the paper showing through the ink near the corners. Not pretty. The edge cutter did mostly okay, except for the bottom two cards, which got mangled edges. Fortunately, the bottom card is a vanity card and took most of the damage. The next to the bottom card is 36-Cross, and I was able to clean up the mangled edge with a razor-sharp cutting tool. That didn't repair the gold edge, so that card is always visible from that side, if that matters. I suppose the trick is to keep returning defective decks until you get one that's okay. Sad. And yet, all-in-all, I'm glad to have the deck, and only briefly considered returning it. I am really looking forward to the followup Kipper deck, hoping that some lessons have been learned, and that it will have fewer problems.

Love these cards
My fetish with history is absolutely fed with these historical cards. Small, easily fits in the palm of your hand, beautiful (many people have commented on them). Love them!

I like it!
The size of the cards is a little bigger than the standard playing cards, but I like the way it feels when I shuffle :) and read well. If you don't mind the size, I definitely recommend this deck :)

Like a 18th centurt French deck.
This deck is like a deck mademoiselle Lenormand could have used (I know she didn't but she could have). It looks like it is from her time. The style is so typically French simple and elegant. I especially like that one gentleman looks to the right and one to the left, same for the ladies. Easy to read with and is the deck A. Musruck uses in his book.
