What is the difference between the Bluelab Truncheon and the Bluelab Commercial Truncheon?

Both items measure conductivity across all scales: EC, ppm 500, ppm 700 & CF. The Commercial Truncheon (the page you are on) measures a wider range (up to 6.0 EC), while the original Truncheon (the other option) measures in tighter increments.

The Bluelab Truncheon has been tailor designed for growers who hand-mix their nutrient solutions. It's rugged design allows you to use it as a stir stick while you mix your solution, getting instantaneous conductivity readings at the same time.

We did! This is an original proprietary design by Bluelab, built on our over 30 years of growing & hydroponics experience. Each Truncheon is built, calibrated and tested by our trained technicians in New Zealand. Please beware of imitations.

The Bluelab Truncheon has been built tough to withstand the day to day rigors of growing and is virtually indestructible. It is fully waterproof, does not need to be calibrated, and only needs a simple rinse after each use.

There doesn't seem to be an "on" button. How do I turn it on?

The Bluelab truncheon was designed to work effortlessly right out of the box. It auto detects when placed in liquid, with bright LED lights showing the measurement. No calibration is required, and the Truncheon is super easy to clean & disinfect.
