Runners Head Phones
Saw quite a few runners wearing these on the park run and having used iPods and Beats which could be a challenge to keep in my ear when running, these bone conducting headphones are great. The sound quality is really good and you can still hear everything around you. The build quality is very good and the battery last very long between charges, I am talking a least a month, running 3 times per week. They are easy to charge with the magnetic charger when they do need charging. Phone connection to an iPhone is straight forward, they are very comfortable to wear and easy to use with simple volume buttons on the one ear.

Superb for outdoor use where you need to hear traffic.
These are comfortable to wear and simply never feel like they'll come off. Excellent battery life. Easy recharge via a magnetic dedicated socket. No issues with the socket being a potential leakage point. They have never had issues with water ingress. They're almost indestructible. They're actually a like for like replacement because my dog ate my last ones (not even joking) and that tells its own story. I didn't want anything else and couldn't be without them. Sound quality is very good considering the bone conduction method. It takes a little getting used to and they obviously do not in any way block ambient sound, in fact their main selling point is that they do not. Out cycling or running you can hear traffic which makes them very safe indeed. The only thing that's a bit weird is that you can feel an actual buzz on your skin if you set the volume too high. Connectivity is simple and fast, pairing with a new device in under 20 seconds.

Love these - ideal for sports/outdoor use.
I do quite a lot of walking and like to listen to podcasts when doing so. Over the last few years I have finally managed to wear out the 3.5mm headphone jack on my phone (I also wore out more than one set of wired headphones). As such, I was forced to take the plunge and go wireless and I'm glad I did. This headset is simply ideal for use as a 'sports' headset, especially outdoors. It's light, cordless and so far has been very rugged. To me it is almost a perfect wireless sports headset. The bone conduction technology is very effective, making for extremely clear spoken word and pretty decent music reproduction. Despite the promotion of the bass capabilities, this is not going to match regular earbuds for deep bass reproduction but in my opinion it is more than 'good enough' especially if outdoors and/or doing sports activity. They would not be my first choice for audiophile listening but for activity use, absolutely no quibbles. The sound doesn't 'feel' all that different from standard headphones ... before I first tried them I thought that they might give a sort of 'disembodied' sound but really, they could just as easily be normal headphones. I had read people complaining about the transducers 'tickling' the temples but I've only managed to reproduce this feeling by turning them up to max volume with loud source material. Even then, it wasn't a particular discomfort. Talking of loudness, they don't seem to go as subjectively loud as most headphones but they sort of don't 'need' to as the sound is just conducted into your eardrums via your skull. I have no complaints, anyway. Possibly when it comes to loud music they might even be 'safer' for the ear than normal phones too but I'm not qualified to give an expert opinion on that. Because your ears aren't obstructed, you can hear everything going on around you (unless masked by the audio you are playing). This is very useful for outdoor use if you are cycling or walking/running near traffic and offers a real safety benefit. Also, because the headset is very light you can keep wearing it and still interact with people, unlike say, earbuds that you might have to remove to talk to someone. It's easy to forget that you are in fact wearing headphones. This ears-unblocked design also has an interesting 'inverse' application where you can use a set of standard, cheap noise blocking earplugs to exclude external noise but still allow you to hear the headphones perfectly. If you are working in a noise-hazard environment where you need to use plugs, this can be useful. Aside from headphone use, it also supports the functions of a telephone headset. It works really well for this, in fact its my preferred bluetooth headset for hands-free use on my phone because of its lightness and open-ears design, allowing you to wear it for long periods. Speech comes though really clearly on the phones and the microphone has worked well even in relatively noise environments too. There's a multifunction button on the left transducer which lets you control audio playback and answer calls etc. Battery life is decent enough - I've never run them down from 100% to empty but have had at least 5 hours listening with the battery level remaining 'medium' (when you power on the phones you get an audible notification of battery level). I think the claimed life is something like 7 hours or so which seems reasonable. One strange thing is that they don't seem to have an auto-timeout when you disconnect or if they do, it's a long time. I guess that could lead to them being inadvertantly depleted of battery if you forget to power them down. The headphones themselves are very robust - there is a strong, slim 'band' (almost like a thick wire) that goes behind the back of your head to clamp the bone conduction units to the area of your temples. For me, this has fitted really well and with the right amount of clamping force. It's not adjustable though so I guess you might experience issues depending on the dimensions of your head. My guess is that they have targeted the most common head size. In any case, the whole setup feels very robust and seems unlikely to break. The bone conduction transducers are pretty much sealed (there do seem to be some grills for bass) so they seem a lot more durable than foam pads or rubber tips as typically found on regular 'phones. There is a degree or water resistance (or sweat I guess) which gives me confidence that they are not going to self destruct if it rains or I get really sweaty. The design makes it really easy to clean the headphones after use - just wipe them down. I absolutely would not want to get them submerged in water, however. The manufacturers do have a dedicated fully waterproof swimming MP3 player based on similar tech which I am probably going to buy too. There is a fair degree of sound leakage compared to earbuds but not likely to be a problem for sports or when outdoors. Not ideal if you are sitting next to someone or maybe in a small office though. Overall, I think these are absolutely superb for the purpose of sports/activity, indoors or outdoors. Also great if you want something that you can wear for long periods of time and that doesn't inhibit your ability to hear the world around you. As I said, they are so good that I will most likely take the plunge and get their swimming mp3 headset for use in the pool. I am only sorry I didn't take the leap and adopt this technology sooner. Even though they are quite pricey I think they are well worth it and they should last many years.

Great, but one flaw
I have had a pair of Shokz running headphones for years, absolutely love them. I've always wanted the swimming ones too but was always put off by the lack of bluetooth connectivity so couldn't wait for the OpenSwim Pro to be released as they have both bluetooth and MP3. The sound quality out of the water is of a good standard, they work well for calls too, they're really comfortable to the point you forget you're wearing them and what I love most is being aware of what else is going on around you. Overall, i'm very pleased with how they work in the water too. From a comfort perspective I kept thinking they were going to come off but they don't, even if you swim fast. I did find however that sometimes when pushing off the wall fast they feel like they will come off but they don't. The sound quality is good considering there is a lot of splashing water noise with swimming and you can improve the quality more with the use of the earplugs they provide, but I don't think you need to use them. When swimming fully underwater the sound is amazing because you don't have the splashing background. I always wondered how well the bluetooth connection would work with these when swimming. It works, so you can stream music while you're swimming on the surface, but as soon as you fully submerge your head you loose the sound for the time you're under the water. So why a 4 and not a 5? Simply because of the MP3 functionality. With the 32GB storage you can store thousands of songs - which is great. The problem is there is no way of navigating the songs or podcasts to choose the media you want to listen to (not via the device or the app on your phone). So the headphones either play through the songs sequentially, in shuffle or on repeat. If I put them in folders, it makes no difference, there is no way to just select a folder of songs to play. This to me is a fundamental design flaw. I wanted to listen to a podcast and only had two choices to find it to play - I either had to skip through all the songs manually to find it, or I had to delete everything else on the headphones to find it easily. I chose the latter. It's a pity, Shokz couldn't nail this navigation issue as I can see it will make it rather frustrating over time. Would I recommend these? In short, Yes. If you like to swim and want some entertainment, buy these - I don't regret it and i'll just hope that Shokz can solve the MP3 navigation flaw with a software update!

Much better than expected!
Bought for running. They are loud enough when near traffic, light, comfortable and stay in place well. Being able to hear what's going on around you crossing roads etc. feels safer. Conveniently you can pair them to more than one device at once (i.e. phone and laptop) - they're great for taking calls since you can hear yourself speaking. Sound quality is pretty good - I wouldn't listen to music on them at home, but it's more than good enough for the intended use. I took a chance on these and was surprised how much I liked them - would not go back to regular earbuds.

Strange how they work but their ok
I tried a pair of these headphones at the airport just to pass some time and they sounded pretty good and fitted my head ok. I was surprised how they work as I was optimistic on the design in the past. I was impressed 👌 and I didn't purchase at the airport as they were somewhere around £150 mark I am a bit tight lol. I looked at the reviews whilst on holiday sitting around the pool and decisions were made for my own birthday gift to myself so I decided on the pro version as the app was available for those ( little did I know the app doesn't have all the settings it says it has fir the pro version bass control ? Just the basic voice and music flick of which can be done on the headphones) I've read that the call on phone via headphones has been improved but I've not used yet and not top of my list. The case that comes with the headphones moulded to the head set and very light and small blooming fabulous 👌. Comes with a headband? WTF ? I've not a lot of hair lol. Stops sweat I guess. Charging is easy magnetic fitting seems to work OK. Turning on and off voice is a bit soft and off sounds like on but that's my deafness I think. Great it tells uou battery high medium or low but I'd rather have it telling me % left more idea. I've charged once and I guess 4hr use so far I chose yhe pro as is 10hrs use and charge of 10 min gives 1 hrs use in emergency rather than the next model down only 8hrs use. Still going on its first charge yey. I've brought for wearing whilst kayaking but on flat water only I think the sea water will destroy them in no time. Sweat 😓 I read they tell you if vapour is detected and you wipe down after a workout with damp cloth then ensure contact is dry before charging. Phone app is bit crap but uou can connect to phone to listen to music etc really fast 😅 I use with a Samsung s21ultra works faultlessly I'm impressed. The sound is great and I listen to vloggs on utube and it's really good. Feels strange on the ear sometimes vibrating but you get used to it. Some say makes you feel strange or ill? I've not had this certainly is a different kind of listening experience for sure. Sounds great. £134 on amazon special deal 👌 for pro version I took it immediately. I can listen to my surroundings just about they can leak a bit of music but not much they are really good I'm glad I purchased them. I'd buy again and tell friends to buy. Bit pricey but they do have cheaper ones similar spec. Cons Wish the app fir them was better on what control you can have.. voice on then is annoying.. Pros. Brilliant glad I purchased for my birthday present. Great sound great fit all round great last for hours. Go buy...

Very well designed & totally reliable.
I have waited over a year to write this review because other products I have swum with have never lasted more than a few months. My Shokz are ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT & have been perfect for my needs. They are excellent value for money & I would strongly recommend them; look nowhere else.

Shokz headset review
I’ve been using the Shokz headset for a few months, and from a product standpoint, it’s genuinely impressive. The sound quality, comfort, and overall design are excellent — exactly what you’d expect from a premium brand. It performs well for calls, workouts, and everyday use. Unfortunately, my experience with Shokz customer service has been the complete opposite. My unit developed a fault after only a few months, and I’ve been trying to get help through their warranty process ever since. Despite sending over a dozen emails, I still haven’t received a proper resolution. Responses have been slow, repetitive, and unhelpful — it feels like I’m going in circles with no progress. It’s incredibly disappointing to see such a well-made product backed by such poor after-sales support. A good warranty process should match the quality of the product itself, and in this case, Shokz has really fallen short. In summary: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the product itself ⭐️ for customer service If you’re lucky and never have to deal with support, you’ll probably love your Shokz headset. But if something goes wrong, be prepared for a frustrating experience.
