Platinum Triply Kadai, Extra Deep, 22cm, Induction, for Home Kitchen

I personally had no previous experience with the Vinod brand, so I was curious to try this cookware. As someone of Indian descent, I do a lot of Indian cooking, and I usually cook in large batches. Most of my cookware is from All-Clad, and I am a big fan of the All-Clad D3 line. However, American cookware doesn't really offer a traditional kadhai-style design, which I was missing for my everyday Indian cooking. I initially tried several tri-ply stainless steel kadhai-style cookware options on Amazon, but most of them had some issues with hot spots and uneven cooking. Even though they were advertised as three-layer cookware, I noticed areas where food and spices could burn more easily. I eventually found the Tramontina Utsava line kadai which I really liked, especially their ceramic-coated cookware. The only limitation was that the largest size I could find was around five quarts. For Indian cooking, I personally prefer eight-quart or larger cookware because having extra space makes a huge difference when you're stirring food. Even when I'm not making a very large batch, the additional space makes it much easier to mix spices, vegetables, meat, and sauces without spilling. That's what attracted me to this Vinod kadhai. It is an eight-quart tri-ply stainless steel cookware, similar in concept to the All-Clad D3 construction, but at a much more reasonable price. The build quality is very good. I would still give Tramontina a slight edge because their cookware feels somewhat thicker and more substantial. This Vinod sits somewhere in the 3rd position but terms of thickness, feels reasonably comparable to All-Clad D3. However, All-Clad D3 is noticeably heavier. Some people prefer that extra weight, while others prefer lighter cookware, so that's really a matter of personal preference. The advantage of heavier tri-ply cookware is generally the thicker aluminum core, which helps distribute heat more evenly. Fortunately, despite being lighter than my All-Clad, this Vinod kadhai has performed very well in terms of heat distribution. I tested it by cooking chicken with approximately two medium-sized chickens along with spices and other ingredients. I normally use relatively high heat when cooking Indian food, and I was particularly watching for hot spots because that has been an issue with some of the other stainless steel kadhai cookware I tried. To my surprise, the spices did not burn, and I did not notice any significant hot spots during cooking. The eight-quart capacity is probably my favorite feature. There is plenty of room to stir everything comfortably, which is extremely useful for Indian-style cooking. The cookware also feels substantial without being excessively heavy like some of my All-Clad pieces. Overall, I was genuinely impressed with this Vinod tri-ply stainless steel kadhai. It may not have the same thickness and premium feel as some of my All-Clad or Tramontina cookware, but the cooking performance is excellent, especially considering the price. For anyone looking for a large stainless steel kadhai for Indian cooking, especially someone who wants good heat distribution, a large capacity, food-safe stainless steel construction, and a good price-to-performance ratio, I would definitely recommend this one. I am even considering purchasing another one in the same size, or a larger version if Vinod introduces one in the future.

This pan is perfect for a ramen meal with sauce and meatballs. It is very durable and cooks the sauce and meat perfectly in preparation for the noodles. It is well made and easy to clean and cooks meals as well as an asian restaurant. The heat distribution is perfect and the quality of the steel is perfect and will not rust. Very happy with it.

The purchase was determined based available handles. Lasso has correct about thickness. It is great for any stir fry or any vegetable dishes. The can handle the heat and distribute equally. I am very satisfied with purchase. It has good purchase price too.

Started swapping all utensils for non-toxic version. This is one of them. Amazing experience, perfect size for a family of 2-4. Dishwasher safe! Handles do turn hot though
