My wife and I like this clock so much that we had to buy a 2nd one after the 1st broke in a bad wind storm. Easy to read even from our swimming pool. It works well and matches the dark brown highlights on our house.

Bought this in NOV 2022. At the time the reviews seemed pretty solid, Clock looked good, and the sellers description made it sound like it was everything that we needed it to be. The only thing that was odd, the seller said they recommended using a carbon battery. In a day where the old carbon batteries are practically nonexistent and impossible to find, I found all other comparable battery clocks like or similar to this work better than fine on alkaline batteries.Sometime after the first year to 18 months, the clock started keeping erratic time and/or just stoped. We were not sure why and so we found ourselves replacing the battery more frequently. New batteries seemed to help but very briefly did the clock run again before it again started having erratic time and eventually stopping. As the final Hail Mary, I put the last battery (always using an Energizer Max alkaline - stopped using Duracell years ago because they leaked) in 05OCT2025... and nothing happened. The clock was dead. I took the clock down today to start looking for a new one and to write this review.Environmentally speaking, the clock never got wet or rained on, was installed on a screen porch, protected from the weather and sun. It only had to deal with fluctuations of temperature and humidity. We also noted that over time, a slight hazy film had formed on the inside surface of the protective acrylic face plate covering the dial and hands. Depending on the viewing angle and ambient lighting, the film was either very noticeable or not noticeable at all.This clock is beautiful, and it fit our decor and the space we hung it well, really accenting the look and feel of the screened porch. However, we do not recommend this clock, nor would be buy it again. Did it fail because we did not use an obsolete carbon zinc battery, maybe, but I find that to be very unlikely.
