Do the Ridge tiles over lap to seal?

Thay bend and cut very easy What i did is seal about 2" from the end with black roof sealant and nail into roof baten, i have worked on lots of roofs in the past good thing u will be clean no more dirty face and hands.

can these tiles be used to protect the mortar in a normal house roof

They will protect the mortar, but the problem will be fixing them to the roof. They have to be nailed down.

how do you fix them to wooden slats
