For the price point it’s an excellent detector. I encountered frequent reads of silver being pieces of lead left over from coal fires. I also did a read on gold and for some reason 24 carat has different discrimination ranges between the US mint and the Canadian mint and also the purity of gold also has a different standard as well in between the carrot ranges so I found it to be fascinating the way it discriminated metal.

I bought this to find nails and screws. We tore down a old mobile home and I wanted to make sure it was safe to not only walk on but put my tractor there as well. I found a rusty nail in no time with this thing. It wasn't very far down but it made a lot of noise and the display was accurate as to the depth. It said it was close to the top and it was like a inch or so down. I dug it out with my fingers. It seems to be really sensitive and identifies nails and screws very well. I haven't found a pot of gold yet tho. I think the last metal detector I used had a meter with a needle to indicate metal, old analog thing. This is pretty simple really even tho it has a lot of info on the display. I used the mode it was in when I turned it on and it found nails just fine. It has a lot of features I may never use but I got this because it sounded like it had good sensitivity. I wanted to find nails and screws down to about a foot or so. With the depth indicator, that helps me to know whether or not I want to dig it up. No need digging up a nail that is 2 feet down. The only thing that concerns me is the attachment point for the sensor head. I had to add a couple washers to it because it was deforming the plastic when I tightened up the bolt and nut. I was concerned it might break it over time as one piece was a little to wide to mate up with the other piece. Other than that, I had it put together and powered up in just a few minutes. The maker of this thing may want to adjust where the sensor attaches tho. It may need some adjustment.

I would advise to not purchase this detector. It is lightweight but if you even hit your food with it accidentally it will give off a 98 rating. It is very cheaply maid. Bottom detector constantly moves so will not detect. Almost impossible to use. It will show if what’s underground should be like a ring or something according to the instrument. It is always wrong and it is always a can or something. It is a frustrating I do not approve of. Hope this was helpful. Would not purchase. Thank you.

I bought this to see if I could use it to search for my lost keys. I have never used one and have zero familiarity with metal detectors. I must say that the use peaked my interest. The description said for beginners, but I would have to disagree. This seems more for a mid level user. If you have someone that is familiar and can teach you this seems like a good product. It had nice parts such as: the extra items (shovel and storage), storage for the unit itself, seems strong. Some aspects where not as good. Not very intuitive and lack of clear instructions, the bolt that holds the lower part feels like it will break over time easily, the return was easy, the headphones.

Very well made only need 2 x 9v batteries ,great ruck sack every thing fits in easy and a well made military style shovel, we are very happy ,just need some good weather to try it out ,thanks

I ordered this machine in the hopes that it could assist me to find metal inserts in my lawn that are supposed to hold my driveway markers. I had tried every other method I could think of and they remained lost, in hiding beneath wet grass and loose soil. With this machine, I found all of them within about fifteen minutes. This machine has a locating "beam" setting that varies the tone the machine sends out the closer you get to your target. For the small metal pieces I was trying to locate, the setting was invaluable as with the wide "footprint" of the scanner, it would've been difficult to precisely locate the fittings I was looking for. I highly recommend this machine for anyone that has to search for small metal objects that have disappeared in a grassy landscape.

For the price, this detector lives up to its expectations. Paired with a hand metal detector, my son has been very successful at detecting metallic objects. Within three outings he found coins, jewellery and lots of junk of course. The hand pick and shovel is weak and the spade has broken already. They are ok for starter tools. We are all very happy with this detector.
