Worth it
Best work blade ever! Excellent grip, perfect weight, solid frame, easily worth the 30 bucks! I just wish they would upgrade the blade lock somehow. It can be difficult to change the blade, especially when your fingers are cold. Other than that, i make sure it stays clipped on my pocket so coworkers don't grab it up!

Very handy edc accessory
Handy edc tool. Rugged and lightweight. It’s one of my first to reach for edc tools for a lot of little things all day.

Jack of all tasks, master of cuts
As a handyman for an old 1910s building, this little tool has very quickly become my go-to and always in my pocket when I'm at work. Blade changes are easy, (spring for the Fiskars heavy duty blades, they are so choice), the push button safety mechanicism is intuitive and very, very hard to accidentally trigger, and the pry bar was surprisingly strong for being squat and short. It's the Best tool in my work every day carry.

Great Utility Knife with a few areas to improve.
Great Utility Knife(UK) with a few areas to improve. TLDR: I've used Utility knives of all sort over the years I've done regular household work and in my hobby, woodworking. This is by far one of the best. In spite of the bad/ugly sections below, I highly recommend this knife for people looking for a general purpose UK to keep around the house. THE GOOD: very solid build, very comfortable in your hand. it's design allows your fingers to naturally fall into good positions of comfort and support for tough tasks. weight is solid but not overbearing, it's definitely not a lightweight and feels like a good tool in your hands. Blade slide locks solidly, and blade is very tight and doesn't wiggle when exposed. The tools in general all work well, and the thick metal used in crafting them means long term function. IMO it has the right tools for a UK. pry bar, bottle opener, can opener, knife, a "sort of" wire cutter, and ad-hoc screwdriver, and the newer ones can come with a belt clip, the best addition in this series since it was introduced. THE BAD: Not much is bad. But to be honest, saying it has a screwdriver is like saying my car keys are screwdrivers, or my pry bar in the corner of my garage is a screwdriver. This UK does not have a screwdriver. Instead, it has an oddly designed prying edge that CAN BE used on screws in an emergency. But it will most likely not work on any screws with tight tolerances and it will wear and damage those screws with consistent use. But It CAN be used. But advertising them as a screwdriver is going a bit too far IMO. THE UGLY: The blade is wonderfully tight and held in place in the knife, which means very good control when using it. The downside is that it's very tight and stiff and hard to replace. If you have big hands, or suffer from weak or aging grip, it may turn into a nightmare, as you need to pry apart 2 pieces of spring steel and hold them apart while you work the blade out BETWEEN them. At this point you are sliding out a razor sharp blade between 2 fingers putting all your pressure into keeping the spring steel open. NOT a safe situation. In addition, putting the new blade in place requires a great deal of force on the spring loaded steel mechanism, and/or allot of pressure on the blade itself putting it in place. This means that you are running a much higher risk of being cut when replacing this blade compared to other knives with easier blade lock mechanisms. It's an unfortunate give and take tradeoff. A solidly held blade means a tight locking mechanism, which means more difficult replacement. It's always been this way. you either have very tight spring steel squeezing the blade in a locked position, or you rely on set screws which usually require a secondary tool of some sort. gerber chose the former. It works GREAT when the blade is in however, so like I said, a tradeoff. Now that you know you can choose.

I really wanted to like this Prybrid, but it is too flawed for me.
As you may have seen in some of the negative reviews, there are at least two common issues. Issue number one is the prying blades are too thick to wedge into many places (or to effectively use as a flat head driver.) And issue number two being the very difficult task of changing the blade. I can confirm both issues are true, at least for me. I was able to take care of the first problem by grinding down the two pry edges to about just under a millimeter and then adding a mirror polish. It worked and I had an effective pry bar and flat head driver. However I was never able to easily (even with various tools) change the blade. I could do it, but it was painful and made me incredibly nervous that I might end up slicing my hand. Additionally, the "cord cutter" available while the blade is stowed is useless. I repeatedly tried using it to trim paracord and finally gave up. This was a new blade, so I'm not sure what the deal was. I ended up purchasing the Gerber Prybrid X and it has been much more functional, right out of the package.

Best utility knife!
Love these utility knives. I’ve bought and lost so many but I just keep coming back for more. Addition of the pocket clip was fantastic idea! I’ve put them through the paces from boxes to drywall to woodwork and the thing never brakes besides the blades and I buy quality blades. Will continue to buy unless they make a new model but idk how you would improve on perfection!

It is what it is to you
From a retired US Marine perspective who has years of experience with field tools, this is not a common tactical EDC but practical in home or work as quality box cutter which I carry around the house but when out in the field you need a leatherman multi tool. In the middle east I used leatherman everyday.

Just what I needed to tackle little tasks, when you don’t have a pocket knife on hand or regular box cutter. This GERBER small box opener is the ideal, tool to carry rather than a pocket knife or box cutter. Looks a little less conspicuous than other tools, and fits nicely comfortably in the pocket. I recommend this GERBER TOOL to anyone and everyone; GREAT buy! Oh, yeah perfectly delivered in perfect condition! FIVE STARS! Thank you, AMAZON PRIME!
