SIGMA 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Canon RF Mount Mirrorless Cameras

The 18-50mm is great as an everyday lens for APS-C cameras. The picture quality is sharp. The wide f2.8 aperture means it's great for low-light situations. It also has nice bokeh. It's not a very heavy or big lens either.

If you want to drastically upgrade your image quality without hauling a massive lens or spending a fortune, this Sigma is a mandatory purchase. It delivers pro-level results in a pocket-sized form factor. Highly recommend

the item has arrived with signs of use and eventually stopped working after the 2 month of use, this is unacceptable as 3 other buyers that have brought the same item from the same seller have said the same issues has happened to them. I contacted the manufacture and they have said that they could not cover the issue as it was brought from a third party seller. I have also contacted the seller and they said that they could not do anything other than resolve this issue! I just lost 689 dollars and this is something that someone should ever go through! please spend the extra money to buy it from an authorized dealer as it will make sure this never happens again!

The SIGMA 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens has quickly become one of my favorite lenses to use. I bought this lens for my Canon R7. It fits perfectly and connects with a reassuring click. Although it is a third party lens, all of the Canon features and functions work with it. The image is bright, sharp, and clear and having f/2.8 throughout the range is a big advantage over the available Canon lenses. The extra bokeh helps to separate the subject from the background. Also, it can shoot macro to about 1:2.However, I find 50mm a little limited and I would prefer a longer maximum focal length. Also, there is no stabilization, so the lens does not work in low light as well as the Canon lenses. Finally, the auto focus is not as reliable as with Canon lenses. I find that I am missing more shots with this lens so I have to check my focus after every shot.

Investing in this lens is absolutely worth every penny! I learned the hard way by initially opting for lower quality lenses, but trust me, the difference in performance is night and day. I’m thrilled I decided to save up and make this purchase. The 18-50mm zoom range is ideal for capturing spontaneous moments, eliminating the hassle of constantly swapping between separate 18mm and 50mm prime lenses. Il existe chez Canon un petit zoom aux focales équivalentes et qui fonctionne bien, mais avec une luminosité d'entrée de gamme comme c'est souvent le cas en APSC. Ce petit zoom développé par Sigma pour d'autres boîtiers est enfin disponible pour les APSC Canon de la série R et dispose d'une ouverture f2.8 constante sur toute la gamme de focales ainsi que d'une excellente qualité mécanique et optique. Il est plus cher que son homologue Canon. En revanche,il n'est pas équipé de stabilisation et s'accordera mieux avec un boîtier à capteur stabilisé type EOSR7.Après quelques jours d'utilisation , cet objectif est devenu mon optique de base,,,

Posso dire soltanto che da fotografo alle prime armi e inesperto, questo obiettivo torna utile in qualsiasi situazione mi possa mai trovare, inaspettata qualità e costanza durante la notte avendo anche comunque una canon r50 riesco a mantenere testa alle luci basse, ma che dire del resto, sigma si riconosce solo dalla sua qualità in qualsiasi prodotto
