Zigbee Presence Sensor FP1E, mmWave Radar Wired Motion Sensor | Requires Aqara Zigbee Hub, Accurate Detection, AI Spatial Learning, Supports HomeKit, Alexa, Google Home, Matter Over Bridge

We purchased this device so my wife would know if I was in bed sleeping while she was at work. The functionality, connectivity, and compatibility made it a very easy installation and it is a dead simple way to detect the prescene in a room. The companion app allows you to really fine-tune the settings to what your perfect use case is. Excellent to ensure lights are turned off through automation when no one is in the room. The amount of smart device routines this enables feels endless.

I've been using this Aqara FP1E Presence Sensor for six months now, in fact, I bought a second unit because the first was so reliable. Setup was a breeze, and the versatile mounting options made it easy to place exactly where I needed it. What truly sets this apart is the rock-solid accuracy of its presence detection. For my home office, where I often sit still for long periods, this sensor has been a game-changer; it never fails to detect occupancy even with limited motion. It’s consistently on point, quickly responsive, and the adjustable sensitivity is perfect for ensuring it works precisely for my home's specific needs. I wasted money on a few cheaper brands before this, and none of them came close to this level of consistent, daily performance. It has been absolutely worth the investment!

Handy little mmWave sensor, but you get what you pay for. This is the cheaper version compared to the FP2. So it works pretty well but still a few small issues. Its decent for tracking 1 single person, but cant do more than 1 and doesnt do zones. Upgrade to the FP2 for more functionality. You will have to spend an hour getting the placement just right, but once its set, you can let it work. I connected mine to Home Assistant (no need for the aqara app if you have HA and Zigbee) and it works well. The only bug is at night, it does not detect sleeping that well. But for an office or living room watching tv, it works fine with subtle movements.

(Edit: 10/04/24) This month’s z2m update brought support for the FP1E. Now I have the device directly on my main Zigbee network in Home Assistant. It works great. I was easily able to pair this Aqara FP1E Presense Sensor to my M3 Hub, just followed the prompt when adding a new device. I was then able to see my Sensor in the Matter Integration that the M3 is a bridge for in Home Assistant. I set up an automation the when presense had changed from any state to clear for greater than 1 minute, to turn off the lights (if already on) in the room I have the sensor in. So far so good. I am however looking forward to when zigbee2mqtt and/or ZHA support this Zigbee device, I am very interested in seeing what is controllable/observable. I had been able to easily pair the FP1E to my z2m network, but at time of writing, it's not yet a supported device. All in all though, good sensor so far. Detects me, totally (maybe) a human, but not my cats. Setting the range of the sensor was easy too, a slidable scale within the Aqara app. And the AI/machine learning "reset" function cleared a clear room and hopefully accounted for all that it is supposed to.

I wanted to like these, but the fact is they are inconsistent and pretty much impossible to diagnose or configure. Example: I want a presence sensor to detect when I am in my home office/ where much of the time I am sitting at a desk. I have it set up overhead with a clear sight to the desk. The problem is it will work fine for a day and do 100% what I want: showing detected while I'm working....clearing when I leave. Zero issues. Then, day 2, day 3, it will start showing clear even while I'm there. Same spot for me and the sensor. Same activities. Even with a 2-5 minute buffer, it will still cause my light to shut off. The remarkable thing is when it bugs out it will show motion detected and show the right distance, just never trigger to occupied. Resetting it seems to help, which suggests this is a design flaw/software bug, but I shouldnt need to constantly reset an expensive sensor.

It is erroneous to say this sensor is Zigbee 3 compatible or HomeKit compatible UNLESS you have an Aqara hub. When I added the sensor by itself to my SmartThings system, it showed up as a "Zigbee Connect thing" or some generic nonsense like that. It did nothing. I thought the Zigbee 3 note meant I could use this with HomeKit through SmartThings, but no. It specifically says "Requires Aqara Zigbee 3.0 HUB " and they mean it. Once I bought the cheapest Aqara hub (around $29 when I got it), it still took some work and updating firmware to get it all working, but now it is flawless; I have a simple sensor that will turn lights off when I am not in my office. Also, I don't think this will work in “HomeKit compatible" mode in the Aqara app. I tried it, but the sensor would never pair with the hub. Then when I redid it in the Aqara app with an account (not HomeKit compatible mode), I was notified to update firmware, and things all worked. Once it was set up, it worked great. But the Zigbee 3 note is really about what Aqara hub to get, not hubs in general. So, honestly, I would recommend this if you have an Aqara Zigbee 3 hub or you just add in to the cost the extra for the USB stick Aqara hub. It's an actual "presence sensor" not just motion detection.

Fantastic little present sensor for home automation. I purchased two of these and one of another version from Aqara. I plan on purchasing more in the future. They work great for home automation for disabled family members. I've set them up to detect when they walk into the laundry room the bathroom the office and when they do it turns the lights on. As long as it detects them in there it keeps the lights on and then in the bedroom and the laundry room it turns the lights off 10 seconds after they leave and the bathroom I have it wait a minute to still run the fan. These have been fantastic for helping disabled family members

As a home assistant user, I wanted to automate the garage lights to stay on when someone is in the garage and turn off when no one is. This device has a sufficient range (6M/20Ft) and detection cone (120 Degrees) to cover a North American 2 Car Garage. It can detect a person through car glass. Caveats: it cannot see through metal garage doors, it does not come with a power brick, you will need a USB-A Power brick, or consider a power receptacle with a USB power source in addition to the standard power plugs. The device can detect movement through drywall, and you can decrease the detection distance.

Açma hızı da mükemmel. Odaya girer girmez ışığı açıyor. Tek eksisi, lux sensörü bulunmaması. Bu cihazla hareket sensörüne bile ihtiyaç duymuyorsunuz. Zigbee2MQTT'de mesafeyi de görebiliyorsunuz. Ancak dediğim gibi, AI modu Zigbee2MQTT ile gelmiyor (doğal olarak). Arkadaşım da aynı cihazı kullanıyor. Örneğin, onda hareket eden perdeye ve çamaşır makinesine nadiren de olsa tepki vermiş. Bu açıdan denemedim ama bende takılı olduğu yer klima önü. Deneme amacıyla klimayı hem soğuk hem de sıcak modda çalıştırdım ve hiçbir sorun yaşamadım. Bu cihazı alarak evinizdeki tüm ışıkları akıllandırabilirsiniz. Doğru bir şekilde yerleştirir ve yeterli sayıya ulaşırsanız, evinizde bir daha ışık açıp kapatmazsınız. Ayrıca, alarm sistemi olarak da kullanılabilir. Home Assistant dahil tüm sistemlerde çalışıyor. Ben Aqara M2 hub üzerinden tanıtıp Home Assistant'a HomeKit Controller ile ekledim. Aqara cihazlarını da Sonoff Micro Zigbee USB adaptöre bağladım. Zaten tek yaşadığım için hareket sensörleri ile ışık otomasyonu yapabiliyorum. Mantık basit: girdiğim odada ışık açılıyor, diğer odalarda ışık kapanıyor. Bu şekilde evimde ışık açıp kapatma ihtiyacı duymuyorum. Ancak misafir geldiğinde sıkıntı oluyordu. Şimdi, misafir gelince kapıdaki kamera algılıyor ve evi misafir moduna geçiriyor. Bu modda tüm FP1'lere elektrik gidiyor ve aktif hale geliyor. Böylece evde kim olursa olsun, ışıklar otomatik olarak çalışıyor. Matter veya Matter destekleyen hub'lar artık yaygınlaştı. Bu cihazı istediğiniz yerde kullanabilirsiniz. Örneğin, Hue ışıkları veya Sonoff rölelerini Matter ile Aqara uygulamasına tanıtıp doğrudan otomasyonlar oluşturabilirsiniz. Cihazı mutlaka kimsenin dokunamayacağı bir yere yerleştirin, çünkü yerinden oynatılırsa AI öğrenme modunu yeniden çalıştırmak zorunda kalabilirsiniz. Arada yarı yarıya fark var, çünkü FP2 çok daha fazla özelliğe sahip bir cihaz. Ancak Türkiye'de FP1, FP2'den daha pahalı. Bu nasıl bir mantık? Fiyat neden 1700 TL’den 3800 TL’ye çıktı?

Reports of it disconnecting: Fix using Hubitat is to install the Aqara P1 motion sensor, from package manager, manually Zigbee pair nearby hub (within 1 m) with avoiding repeaters (C8), directly after doing a rebuild Zigbee network TWICE which allows a better pairing operation , also after the first pairing , save then do a re-pairing operation again, the same device will be found and further data about the sensor will have been added, the device will have been recognised and the driver loaded. If the attributes like occupancy /motion show and shows ONLINE for longer than a few minutes, then you have probably succeeded in pairing fully to Hubitat, if not re-do the process above as it may take a couple of attempts depending on the interference from surrounding equipment. I now have 3 of them and found them very good for medium sized rooms lounge/kitchen/dining etc to keep lights on when occupied. I also dabbled with HomeAssistant and put it on a raspi-pi and used a Sonoff USB dongle plus with co-ordinator software installed, if it has been set to a router, it can be easily flashed back to co-ordinator-search for sonoff website and online flasher (which is what i had to do) Everything I have tried on HA just pairs instantly, and in the process of moving some of my problematic Zigbee devices to it. Works as expected with ''their'' hub and usually needs updating from 0026>0029 which cant be done with other platforms that i know of 'yet'

J'intègre ce détecteur de présence à Home Assistant via une clé Zigbee ; je ne peux donc pas commenter l'application native. Néanmoins, sa reconnaissance par Z2M est immédiate et, après configuration, sa fiabilité atteint 99 %. J'ai observé très peu de ratés ou de faux positifs. L'appareil est fourni avec une plaque métallique adhésive permettant une fixation et un réglage aisés. Son seul défaut réside dans un temps de réponse non immédiat : quelques secondes s'écoulent entre la sortie de la zone de détection et la mise à jour de l'état. Ceci reste toutefois négligeable en utilisation courante.
