I like it!
Seems to work well. I'm no expert on timing lights but I bought this and used it to set the timing multiple times and it works and I have no problem using it. It's constructed more than good enough for light duty (in my case occasion) and considering that it doesn't have advance adjustment you're probably doing something wrong if you're trying to use this thing for heavier usage situations. I actually wanted the roughly $20 more expensive non-digital model that has the advance adjustment/setting because it makes it easier to dial in a particular amount of degrees but it was out of stock so I just grabbed this basic model ... turns out that it's not so bad with the basic model and the price for this thing is an absolute bargain! One thing to note is that the light is not like a round spot light but more like a rectangular beam or band, so if you hold this thing sort of perpendicular to the crank pulley then you'll only illuminate a narrow spot on the pulley, but if you rotate the light 90 degrees so it's parallel with the pulley then you'll illuminate the whole pulley and basically nothing else in the engine bay ... I found this design to help improve the contrast making it easy to find the timing mark. Your experience may vary. Pretty sure it's impossible to go wrong with this thing even if it cost more than it does. The only reason I wouldn't buy this timing light is if you need digital, need something that does high end CDI, or you need/want advance adjustment.

Excellent timing light, be sure to read manual
This is an excellent basic timing inductive light. The cords are nice and long and I was able to hook up the inductive pickup close to the distributor with no problem. The shape is good for use but not as good for storage, a decent trade-off. The long narrow barrel let me put the light close to the timing scale/mark and it was readable even on a sunny day. I think this is an improvement on the traditional "T-handle" design. The improvement in my car's performance after adjusting the timing was noticable and more than worth it. Overall, it seems well made, and I like not having to hold down a trigger. The sleeves on the battery clips were a little loose. I pushed them up higher on the clips and this tightened them up sufficiently. There is an owner's manual inside the cardboard insert; be sure to remove this. I found it only after I had finished using the timing light, and I noticed several warnings about not connecting the light with the engine running (which I did, but fortunately it did not damage the light). A storage case would have been a nice feature, but for the price I don't consider not including one a drawback.

Good basic light
Works well, seems sturdy enough. The only reasons I didn't give it a five are for a few minor points, one design, one construction. Design...I don't see any reason this unit couldn't have been made more compact & therefore easier to store. There's no real need for it to be any wider than it is in the handle area, & I'm not sure why it needs to be so long, unless it's to help get the light end closer to the timing marks on some engines (I bought to use on a Miata). Construction...The battery clamps could be a bit heavier duty & have better covers than the typical slip-on plastic sleeves that eventually slip off & go missing. Springs are nice & strong, though. Things I did like: Bright light. On/off button that doesn't need to be held down. Contemporary design. Swivel head is convenient. Removable cord makes untangling and preparing for storage easier. Induction clamp seems solid. Case (shell of unit itself, no storage case is included) is hopefully a tough ABS plastic that will withstand normal knocks & has no need for silly "chrome" plating.

Worked well.
Well worth the extra money over the cheaper options. After buying one of the $20 ones, having to rebuild another one. This one was worth it.

Worth the extra dollars over the cheap units
Originally bought a cheap<$28 timing light but the flash didn’t work so I returned it and bought this Innova light. This model works great on my 1974 Jeep CJ5 304. The flash is bright and it is easy to handle. I was able to get it aimed and see the timing marks. Definitely recommend spending the extra dollars to get something that works and feels like it will last.

Switch Failure
I tried to like this timing light twice. The build quality is good, cord is robust, housing durable and light visible even in full daylight. However, there is an issue with the On/Off "switch". First light would not come on initially, started to work intermittently and then would not turn off. Returned to Amazon for an identical replacement. Replacement initially worked fine. Switched On and Off properly and then, while switched Off, the light would flash intermittently. Problem is the "switch" is a contact membrane only and the current control device exists deeper within on a PCB. From experience, PCB gremlins only get worse over time so I wasn't sure that I would have any function next time I needed this tool. Return to Amazon again.

Performs exactly as advertised
No instructions came with it, but is very self explanatory. If you are in question, Innova has a "How To" video on operation. Using this budget version of the gun was all I needed, found my timing perfectly, and allowed me to fine tune my 1960 Biscayne on the spot

For the classic cars that I own, this timing light does exactly what I need it to. I don’t need the advance feature offered on the higher models. It has already proven to be a great addition to my tool collection. You can’t go wrong with this one.
