Great!! New pet :)
These arrived alive and well, they revived and settled in very well, starting to grow straight away. Clear instructions supplied to get them going and look after them. It took a few weeks for them to get used to their new environment here but they now make a really smooth, mild, creamy and fizzy kefir. I usually keep them in a lidded container to increase the yeasts and make it very fizzy as I like it that way (grains get very floaty and they seem to like a good shake a few times a day when lidded). They will adapt and make a thicker, less fizzy kefir when I fancy a change and give them some air instead by leaving them unlidded (they get a stir a few times a day - my grains seem to prefer being agitated a bit!) They go in the fridge now and again for a couple of days when I can't be bothered to kefir/ran out of milk, they pick up where they left off the moment they warm up. They double every few days so seem to be very healthy and strong. I feed them with organic whole milk generally, but they are fine with any whole milk. I make a glass a day and flavour the kefir with Monin syrups (so easy and only need a tiny bit for a strong flavour). I don't need to bottle it to carbonate if I keep the jar lidded - just open, close, shake a few times a day. Keeps digestive system running very smoothly and great cheap source of probiotics and nutrients.

Still going strong after seven years
Iโm finally writing a review seven years on from buying these kefir grains. Put simply, you may get a tiny amount initially and think, what are these going to do? But give them a bit of time and care and yours might be still going strong after that long too. They have multiplied so many times, I either eat the extra grains or pass them on, their offspring have been shared with many people. I get fabulous kefir from it, I like it very well fermented just as it is. So refreshing and healthy!

5g not 15g as stated on Amazon! underdeveloped grains not ready to use.
Please note that they only send you 5g of kefir grains and measly small underfermented ones at that, not the 15g stated on amazon product description ( packaging, 20g, item 15g, units 15g - that is a lie - the whole thing wighs less than 15 gramms and on the bag of grains itself it has tickboxes for 5 gramms , 10 gramms, and 15 gramms - and the 5gramms one is tiked so they purposefully send you 5 gramms when they advertise 15gramms - 5 gramms, and in grains nothing like the photos - no mature grains here, just tiny baby grains it will take moths and gallons of milk to get the tiny graind they sent anywhere near the size of the ones photographed, let alone the 15 gramms wight I was sold here, I bought these "organic cows milk grains" as they are for a present for my freind along with her won kefir kit, as I use goats milk , but it is a waste of time. I do NOT recommend these grains - go somehwere else and buy proper, functioning grains of a decent size and weight. - these grains are too young, not suitable for fermenting milk, they need another couple of months of activation before they can be used, which will not only cost you time but gallons of wasted milk. it is a disgrace that they use photos of funcitoning grains and send out non functioning grains, and there are also no instructions with them, but I knew as soon as I saw them there was something really wrong. I took them to goat farmer I get my goats milk from, who also does kefir workshops and cheese workshops etc, and they explained to me that yet - these grains are nowhere near ready for use to ferment kefir. I went to the comany's website - as no instructions - just says " go to our website" on a piece of paper, and there bonthe website it tells you, after much waffle, that it could take months for your grains to work, and that you have to change out and throw away the milk every 12 to 48 hours for that month - so they even tell you , after much searching, on their own website, that thes grains are NOT SUITABLE for kefir fermentation , not as they sell them, you are expected to finish the growth of the grains yourself. it syas no such thing here on amazon and I will be reporting this page as people new to kefir will not know, people experienced in kefir will not know, we can grow on our own grains at home, if we are buying a batch of different culture for a friend, like I was, do not buy it here.

Great results.
You don't get 15g as stated in the listing, I weighed mine at 5.2g, but they do grow quickly. I've had mine for just under two weeks now and after getting through 2 litres of milk they now weigh 30g! The grains didn't take any time to get going and I didn't have to discard any of the first batches. They produce nice flavoured kefir and am very pleased with the overall performance of the grains. Their website provides very good guidance and information on making kefir too.

probiotic-rich drink that's great
We absolutely love these live milk kefir grains! Making healthy, delicious kefir at home couldn't be simpler. They culture a batch in just a few days, providing us with a fresh, probiotic-rich drink that's great for our gut health. The best part? It significantly cuts the cost compared to buying it from the supermarket. It's an easy, healthy, and money-saving habit we're thrilled to have started. Highly recommended for anyone interested in home-brewing their own healthy drinks!

Good grains... just not enough of them. Read my tips.
Ok, so I've had my grains for 2 months now and it's taken so much work to make them grow. I know it was January when I bought them but the grains I got must've weighed about 2 or 3 grams. 3 stars cos I'm annoyed at the small amount I got. And they were baby grains I spent about 10 days just trying to grow them. However, I've learned a lot so here's my advice. First off just use about 15-20ml of milk and if the temperature is around 21-23 then they'll ferment the milk within 24 hours, and some small grain growth. Keep repeating the process. As the grains grow then you ferment more milk, but I'd say to get grains growing - less is more. When you get about a tablespoon of grains then you can use about a cup of milk and providing temp is good then you'll get milk fermented within 24 hours. After dozens of batches ive realised that to get smooth, non gritty Kefir you need to do multiple small batches and allow the whey to start to separate. With a spatula allow to pour off some of the whey and then strain your Kefir, it'll be smooth and thick providing you only go to a maximum of 4 times milk to grains. (ie, if you have 5grams of grains just use 20ml of milk) . It can be ready within 3 hours but each home environment is different. . Pour off some whey then repeat. If you're too busy and 3 hours is too quick then either ferment in a colder place, add more milk, or reduce the grains. All those 3 work in tandem with each other. I have to admit I almost gave up, but I saw a YouTube video and realised I was trying to ferment a pint of milk with only a few grams of grains. But now I can make thick Kefir that's smooth and it's all down to keeping the proportion right. 3 or 4 to 1( milk to grains. Also don't mix the Kefir once it separates from the whey. Separation is good) Gently push a spatula down the glass and then when you see the whey slide up in front of your spatlaula gently tip your glass and pour away some whey instead, obviously keeping the spatula where it is to stop any Kefir draining into your whey jug. Then you can mix the Kefir, grains and, residual whey with your spatula and sieve the grains off. You'll now have a thicker Kefir. It should also be smooth. The grains in the sieve go back into the glass and you repeat the process, but if your grains are still small or haven't grown then just use small amount of milk again, Perseverence is key to growing your grains, the Kefir comes after but don't make the mistake of trying to ferment a pint, or more of milk with only a few grains. You'll end up waiting 72 hours and the milk has probably gone off instead. So would I buy grains from this company again? Probably not. They should sell what they promise. On the other hand, do they work? Yes, absolutely. Just needs your time to establish them.

Easy, delicious, well performing
Excellent. I have had these for months now and they are robust, increasing grains. It took a week or so of daily milk and straining to get going but once started they are delicious, well performing, increasing grains. I regularly have surplus grains that I sometimes pass on to interested friends, or I eat them.
