Great item, albiet expensive. The images can be slightly misleading as there is no PVC strap that you can snap your ID card to. You only get the ring wherein you have to attach the card like a key. The couple of sleeves that I have received don't reflect confidence as they are very soft and may tear if tugged hard. Coming to the pulley, it is strong and durable. The wire is braided and tightly pulls back. The round metal case with the clip might feel slightly bigger than we are generally used to for ID cards. If you are looking for an ID card holder that would last long, you can go for this one. ---- Review after 7 months ---- tldr; does everything it's not supposed to! There are definitely several areas of opportunity which I would list below chronologically. 1. The casing and the belt clip loosen over time, fast! Why - Because while the exterior is made of metal, the insides are held by a puny screw with a plastic thread, thus, the thread loosens and the screw falls out almost every day making the entire thing unusable. Also the clip thing is best suited if you are wearing thicker fabrics. If you wear formals, is most likely to fly to your hands every time you swipe through that door or check point unless you have tugged it tightly to the belt. Solution: You can probably add some buffer like paper, broken incense stick or toothpick pieces to make the screw hold on to something so that the casing doesn't come loose. 2. The so called "braided cord", broke twice without any apparent reason. There was no tugging or hard pulling. Just a normal day where you pull your ID card to swipe at the security gate and zippp. The card remains in your hand, your poise - "bruised". Solution - Disassemble the entire thing which you were previously holding together by that little toothpick pieces. Find the broken tip, re-attach it to the card holder part, correctly tie the knot, then rewind the entire pulley and then again struggle and put the thing together to take to work the next day. Fun part, I had gifted the second one to a colleague who was equally unimpressed by the same defects. Bottom line: I was probably a bit hasty with my initial review. If you are looking for an ID card holder for daily use, go for the high end ones which come with both clips and carabiners. Else, you can buy the cheap plastic ones, dozen a dime and keep your peace of mind intact. Thank you.
