Camping on the North West Coast of Scotland. Tent up, fire on, amazing sunset. What more could you ask for. A lot of campsites do not allow fire pits but will allow a fire bowl powered by propane gas. Clean, no mess, no wood to carry, minimal fire risk if positioned correctly. Even on half setting there was a lot of heat coming from it. We put in all the lava rock that came with it. One bag not enough really to cover the burners adequately. Really adds to the atmosphere of an evening. Very portable with the carrying straps/handle. You could really take this anywhere as long as your propane tank isn't too big. Beach, Garden etc..

Calienta muy bien, perfecto para áreas pequeñas. Dice que trae piedras de repuesto pero las 3 bolsas que trae quedan casi exactas, hasta siento que le hacen falta porque ninguna sobra para dejarlas de repuesto, igual son fáciles de conseguir. Lo que sí es que tuve que cambiarle la conexión que trae en el regulador porque evidentemente la que trae no da en los tanques de gas de México, gasté solo $65 pesos en la punta pol con o-ring y la tuerca izquierda con maneral de plástico negro. Si lo recomiendo por la practicidad de llevarlo a cualquier lugar y poder usarlo donde sea. Yo lo uso en mi terraza con un tanque de gas de 4Kg.

I got this because of the fire ban at a campground I was going to. Now I want to use this everywhere I go!! Its so easy to use, doesn't make you smell like smoke, light-ish weight, amazing quality, and affordable! It's so nice it comes with 3 packs of lava rocks too!

Set this up today. Instructions say it comes with 4 bags of lava rocks. 3 bags for the bowl and a bag of "spares". Well, ours only came with 2 bags and the spares. Not a huge deal as the spares would likely just take up space on a basement shelf for decades. LOL It does blow through a lot of propane, but the manual says to expect that. A full 20 lb tank should last between 7 and 11 hours depending on the valve setting used. We used it full on tonight as it was quite chilly. If you were camping for a week and using it nightly I think it would be best to bring a spare tank if you have one. Anyway, it is a sturdy piece of gear that comes with a lid and carry straps. Doesn't weight much. Less than 10 lbs I'd say. It was toasty warm once the lava rocks heated up. We sat about 3 feet away. Also, these can be used even if there is a fire ban on in most places. Check your local bylaws. Happy with this unit so far. It will make a nice addition to our camping gear.

There are several versions of this. I got the one WITHOUT the spark starter built in because it was $100 cheaper. I got it on here for $138 dollars Canadian on sale. I have to tell you there is minimal hiss, CSA approved for burn bans. PROS: Burn ban approved, decent flame, easy to light with barbecue lighter, no smoke in your hair or clothes, the gas cost is equivalent to buying wood, no messing with ashes. CONS: No fire "crackle", smaller than real bonfire, if you have a mosquito season in your area in late spring and early summer remember these give off carbon dioxide like a human's breath and they attract mosquitos like a spell from hell. But it only lasts a few weeks. Eats gas pretty bad but when compared to buying wood the cost is equivalent. All in all a super little firepit. Last year in my area there were a bunch of bans so I recommend this option.
