A great party of heroes once brought an era of peace, their deeds fading to legend over time. But what of their elven mage, Frieren, who outlived her companions? A new generation sparks her next adventure to understand the human heart, now and of the past. Review: Amazing world and (especially) characters - I thought I was actually going to find this show extremely boring since I'm typically someone who hates side quest animes. However the characters and the world building are so well written and enjoyable that I actually think this is my favorite anime I've watched this year so far. I appreciate that you get to see the characters grow and the time skipping is actually done really well (once again something I usually don't like in anime) Seeing how every one of the characters handled (and some are still handling) Himmel's death, Frieren discovering her love for humanity, and Fern becoming an great apprentice but also someone who is a great companion is really nice. The scenes with Heiter being (in Frieren's eyes) corrupt to someone who raised a war victim until the end of his life as well was really nice to see. Especially seeing him give up on alcohol, specifically because Frieren pretty much knew him as an alcoholic from what I believe, was also a really nice touch. Seeing Frieren figure out every person she knew isn't one dimensional and exploring the world and helping people out honestly was just really touching to see. As someone who (because of my disabilities) has a much harder time understanding people than my peers it is really nice seeing someone who (I'd imagine) is so much older than any other character in the series also fumble with these struggles and is actually making a step towards trying to figure out the people and the world around her makes me believe that maybe my efforts to learn and grow haven't entirely been useless. Frieren also makes quite a lot of efforts in the part of the show I'm in to make sure to make the side quests personal to each person she's helping. The side quest with Himmel's grave and her researching for several weeks to find Himmel's favorite flower so she can cast a spell with them is really heartwarming. I almost teared up there myself. I'm personally able to see myself a lot in the silly elf girl and I really appreciate that they aren't just sticking with a ton of basic stereotypes as that would, imo, make the show quite boring. And I can't wait to see how else everyone in the cast grows. 10/10 anime and I can see why it's at the top of my anime list (or at least the last time I checked) Review: Fantastic - Love the series

Loved the story - touching plot with great characters.
After dropping a whopping .99 on a Crunchyroll trial subscription I watched quite a few animes and had almost given up on the 'adventure/quest' genre but this story was well-written with characters I was interested in watching develop. Loved it so much I bought Season 1 but was disappointed I'll have to buy part 2 later. Dividing seasons up for Blu Ray sales caught me off guard when I purchased the Ancient Magus' Bride so I learned to read the descriptions better so at least this time I knew what I was getting. The description for this Blu Ray was accurate as it indicates "Season 1 Part 1" where the Ancient Magus' Bride description says "The Complete Series" - even though it excluded season 2. Oh well I've learned to live with disappointment and I don't regret either purchase even though, in the end I'll be spending more $$ that I wanted to. To end on a positive note - I'm happy with the purchase and will buy part 2 when it is available!

Really beautiful fantasy anime with lessons to teach and great friends to make.
Really great standout anime with a wonderful yet realistic fantasy setting. The characters are all very interesting and memorable, with Frieren, the 1000+ years young legendary mage who aided in the demon king's defeat, taking the center stage on an entirely new journey as she struggles as we all do with contemplation of past memories and even friends who may no longer be with us. It is a great story teaching us to live and not succumb to the curse that is "analysis paralysis" as Frieren suffers from in the beginning before being joined by a young girl and her soon-to-be apprentice, Fern. To quote Frieren herself: "Don't dwell in the past when you have the present. Trust me."

Anime pit stop
Amazon is usually my one-stop for anime purchases. They beat Crunchyroll when it comes to both delivery and availability. Plus having prices even with Crunchyroll discount membership included and Amazon without the discount. This anime is a favorite of mine for its humor. So to find it and such an affordable price is great. Plus brought to me soon is great. Would recommend if you are looking to make purchases

Gracias y saludos.

A modern classic and a masterpiece of a show
One of the best anime I've ever seen in the last two decades I've been watching. Tackling subjects of loss, found family, self-reflection, and so much more; if you're anything like me, you'll cry, laugh, get hyped, be at the peace, and feel so many other things throughout the duration of the show. I truly believe this show will be remembered as a modern classic and a masterpiece of animation, storytelling, and character writing for many years to come. I'm really looking forward to season 2 coming in January and I hope that the show's stellar quality continues for as long as this show does.
