This is a pretty nice camera.
This camera works really well. It does take some fiddling to get it to work with a non-Reolink system, however. It does not have a web-based configuration interface like most cameras. You have to install the Reolink app to configure this camera in this case. That's a little annoying, but once you install the app, configuring the camera is pretty straightforward. If you have a Reolink system, then setting this camera up is probably pretty easy. I'm using this camera with an AgentDVR/Ispy system, and it works well. Reolink has versions of its app for Windows, MacOS, Android, and IOS (no Linux). If you're planning to use this camera with a Non-Reolink system, then you MUST install the app and configure the camera to get it to work. For a non-Reolink system, In the app, go to: Network-Server Settings, and enable rtsp and onvif. These protocols are not enabled by default. Non-Reolink DVR's use these protocols. If you want sound, then go to: Device-Sounds and enable audio. This setting is also off by default. One reviewer stated that the resolution is much worse than advertised. I have not seen this. The resolution is very good imo. Note that this camera has two video streams. It has a high-res stream and a low-res stream. Maybe he was connected to the low res stream by mistake? I know I've done that before. You can also configure the resolution of the two streams in the app. Maybe the resolution of the high-res stream was not configured to its highest. I don't now, but it works fine for me. Another reviewer complained that the two images aren't stitched together very well (this camera actually has two cameras, and the two images are stitched together in software). There is a slight discontinuity where the two camera images merge, but the alignment of the two camera images can be adjusted in the app. Go to: Device-Display-Advanced-Image Stitching. With a little fiddling, you can get the two images stitched together pretty seamlessly. Note that this will never be perfect, because the convergence of the two camera views depends somewhat on the distance of the object from the camera. You can get it pretty close, though. Another nice feature of this camera is that there doesn't seem to be any problem with reflections from the infrared lights onto the inside of the dome lens. With other cameras I have, this is a big problem, but I don't notice this problem at all with this camera. Night vision is good, and the built-in IR LED's do a pretty good job of illuminating things. Of course, their distance is limited (this is true for every camera I've ever worked with). Adding a separate IR flood light can make a big difference if you want to see your whole yard, for instance. Also, if you don't want the white flood-light LED's to come on at night, you need to disable those in the app. Go to: Device-Light-Spotlight.

Great product and works well, but not good for any range much over 25 feet
Very wide view of two cams in one. Very easy to install, very clear picture. Cam very well-packed with all parts included complete with pattern to install for holes to be drilled. Got it on sale at 33% off. UPDATE 6/1/2026 The Camera does well with working order, Its is truly the worst camera of all the 8 that I have installed. After 6 months of use I will take this one down and keep for a back up. Its not clear at ant distance outside, its very small in producing video,no adjaustable motion of the camera and panoramic view is horrible. I waisted my money on this . The other ones I have by Reolink are very good and work very well.

Solid but lacking on vertical FOV
Great image quality. Solid construction. But to be honest I was a little disappointed with the vertical FOV in my application. LOVE the 180° wide view. Just wish the vertical view was better. Still a solid choice but it would work better lower to the ground, that would give you a better vertical view.

VERY impressed with the clarity!
This camera has amazing clarity! I installed it on a front corner roof eave of my house so that I can have a 180 degree view of my street. Upon first viewing the picture quality, I was very pleasantly surprised to see just how sharp the camera resolution is, particularly after I zoomed in to view the house numbers of my various neighbors down the street. I'm already part of the Reolink ecosystem, having recently installed their doorbell camera, floodlight camera, and multiple bullet cameras around the exterior of my house. So I already had those various cameras as a reference in terms of the comparative quality of the resolution. This camera with its 16MP apparently makes a world of difference when it comes to crystal clear clarity, compared to my other cameras (which already have great resolution in my opinion). Night vision on this thing is also impressive. I actually didn't need to turn on the infrared night vision feature, as there's a street light fairly close to my house. So with just the nearby street light on, the night time clarity is also very good. My only ding against this camera is that Reolink doesn't seem to offer it in a black color (only white). All my Reolink bullet cameras mounted on my roof eaves are black, so I wanted this camera to also be black. I just don't like the look of white security cameras because they stand out too much and don't look aesthetically pleasing to me on a house. Prior to installing, I ended up spray painting this camera black so that it would look more aesthetically pleasing when mounted to my roof eave. For anyone who's thinking of doing the same thing, as an FYI... I went down to my local big box hardware store and purchased a can of Krylon Fusion All-In-One paint and primer in matte black color. The result turned out great and I couldn't be happier! It just would've been nice if I could've purchased this camera in black to begin with. I'm definitely a big fan of Reolink's products!

Test on night mode prior to mounting
Works great during the day but has a definite difference between the two camera images at night. It’s not a difference in area lighting. Wish I would’ve tested it more thoroughly before mounting. My other Reolink cams are great.

Great Picture Quality, Simple Setup
Installed this outside by my pool, and so far it's been great. The picture quality is very clear. The 16MP dual-lens setup with the 180° panoramic view gives a wide, detailed look at the whole pool area without blind spots. Setup and everyday use have been straightforward, no complaints there.

A terrible disappointment - very bad design
I've had a total of THREE of these cameras. The first one for my carport works OK, just OK. I decided to add a second for the front of my house. The first unit I received was completely defective. I wasn't happy, but Amazon very quickly replaced the unit. The second (functional) unit was a complete disappointment. Daytime performance is OK. My one significant complaint about the daytime performance is that the camera can't handle high-light situations. One section of my lawn, off to the far left of the camera range, gets quite a bit of light in the late afternoon. The grass turns a bright white blooming so bright that the entire area is not viewable. I also found that, while the camera boasts a 16 megapixel video capture, it must achieve this using two 8 megapixel cameras stitched together. I bought this camera to replace a 12 megapixel Reolink Camera (I wanted the full 180 degrees); however, the level of detail dropped off dramatically. Suddenly, I lost much of the detail when I zoomed in on distant objects. The huge disappointment, however, is the nighttime performance. It is just terrible. I added three pictures to this review. The first (and darkest) one is actually with the spotlight turned ON! The other two are the normal nighttime performance. It is truly useless at night. The left camera has a permanent blur in the picture. Any light in the area causes large, blurred areas in the picture. I checked to make sure there was no moisture on the inside of the dome or the lens, but nothing helped. Fortunately, I was able to slip in on the last day of the return window and requested a return. Amazon is great about that! I have six other Reolink 12 Megapixel cameras in operation around my house, and they work flawlessly. I think Reolink just missed big time on this design.

Great 180 degree horizontal view, wish vertical was a few degrees larger.
(EDIT 10/27/2025) The initial review detailing the issues I was having was a ME problem. Could the vertical view be bigger...Absolutely, but with a little adjustment I was able to get the best monitoring viewing option that works for me. Customer service/tech support has been nothing but spectacular and helpful. I love the optiosn this camera gives you in the software so much and I wish all cameras had the same. "Perimeter Protection Line crossing" is amazing to alert when someone enters your yard. Movement highlighting and tracking is great. I like that this camera will take you right to the motion event playback, again another option I wish the other 'older' camera's had. {original review} I have many Reolink camera's since they are basically plug and play and one app controls them all. I always look to get a better field of view and cover more area, and clarity, so the 180 degree cameras are appealing. However, it comes at a cost. You completely lose vertical field of view. There are many complaints about that, and I agree it really changes your surveillance coverage area and is in fact a huge factor. Sometimes you just gotta buy and try. I may return and replace, but I'm going to give it a few days of trial and making adjustments before I make that final decision. I may need to move the camera to a different location.

The camera has good image quality and a wide 180° field of view, but it has some major limitations.
⭐⭐⭐ The camera has good image quality and a wide 180° field of view, but it has some major limitations. There is no tracking feature, and it does not move at all, so you have to manually adjust it, which is frustrating. The display is long and narrow, which works fine on a wall but not on the ceiling. I originally mounted it on the ceiling, but the view was awkward, and I had to take it down. If you’re looking for a camera with flexibility in placement or movement, this might not be the best choice. However, if you’re okay with a fixed-position camera and only need wall mounting, it does the job well. Over all it is a good camera.

Very good product
I previously rated this camera 2 stars but update my rating to 5. #1 - Reolink has excellent customer support and they really care about your satisfaction. #2 - The glare that I previously had in my camera was due to user error, the camera works well day and night. --- Previous review : Awful glare with night vision enabled. I do not recommend this product if nighttime recording is crucial. Daytime recording is pretty good.

So so
left and right side camera resolution and colour profile is different, went to support and they have me a picture from one of theirs and exactly the same. Looks like quality is not a concern, i also have issues with the 1240a. One the good side was easy to setup and less glare from the IR at night compared to the other model.

Camera great, SD slot could have improved design
Camera works great. When putting an SD card into the slot it fell into the slot housing and could not get it back out. So be careful when putting the SD card into!
