This product was exactly what I was looking for! I was pleasantly surprised when it came in professional packaging showing the care of the product not being a cheap toy. Next I went to the instructions and was pleasantly surprised to find there was an option to turn off the beeping sound when it detects and you can switch it to a vibrate when it detects. The instructions were thorough and clear and even provided examples of when and where you might use a feature on the device. If you do not read the instructions this product will be useless and confusing to you. I got to test this on my car and used the MS function to pick up on signals. You can use your phone since it gives of signals to set the dial to the distance you want the signal to pick up by putting it on a surface and standing the distance away you want it to pick up the signal. But note if you’re too far it might just pick up the wifi signal (make sure you remove smartwatches/fitbits so it doesn’t threw off the signal while using this device). I got a strong signal behind my left rear tire. I was greatly troubled until I noticed my tired was on top an electrical cable which set off the signal. Though there was no concern, it showed this device is effective! I feel confident in using this device and its multiple functions to feel safe in my traveling. It’s easy to take apart to be compact for travel as well. I think if you have a medium sized purse you could keep it in there or even your glove box. The only think I wish it was better with is picking up a magnet from a distant, thought i understand why that’s not entirely possible so it does a fine job as it is.

Perhaps the best option in the affordable category. Can give basic information and find some cameras and bugs.

Works as advertised. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that it is a plastic build and would be just a tad bit nicer if it were metal. The price of this varies across Amazon but it is defeinitely a fair price range. The build quality of cheaper ones is generally more flimsy.

Very easy to operate and can discreetly monitor my space

First off, I'm going to say that the local POLICE told me to buy myself a scanner since they themselves DO NOT own such equipment. I had an unnerving instance where a random stranger entered my house one night and turned on the light in front of our bedroom, accessed an account on our TV then left. (He/she wanted us to know they had entered), but our $10,000 worth of gemstones by the door were not touched. Just the week prior they had flown a drone over my house and sat there staring at me for 15 minutes when I walked out and heard it. I live in the country, so it's VERY uncommon for that sort of thing (either thing) to happen. I knew they must have some sort of spy equipment in my house because the night they entered the dogs had all been locked in their dog room (sometimes they are left out in the living room). I'm going to warn you . . . this is going to put you into the looney bin trying to use this thing. It was going off EVERYWHERE you'd expect it to. The living room. The picture on the wall. The deer head. The ceiling fan. it did NOT go off in my son's room, his bathroom, or our second living room we rarely use and is next to our main living area. It DID go off on our bed frame. SADLY, I could find NOTHING. Which ONLY made things WORSE. Furthermore, it was not consistent. Here's the problem . . . after researching online, I found that newer, sophisticated bug devices can detect detectors and shut off signals. So you might catch it, but it could disappear. Others are limited transmission, only sending out signals at certain intervals. AND others are limited on battery power, so might only transmit for a week and then dead. Some can tap into your wifi, and others are on a 4G plan. Some are battery powered and some direct into your main power system. As others mentioned, the magnetic detector only works within 1 inch of said object, which is fine for stuffing down holes you cannot reach into, but not much else. I'd also suggest downlaoding an EMF detector on your phone (for free). That works about as effectively and detects different magnetic radio frequencies. Hopefully I don't end up as a news story . . . but if I do, blame this detector and local law enforcement. (I don't have any enemies, but I am a YouTuber, fwiw)

This product doesn't find anything at all. After many attempts, I gave up.

I bought the Silver K18 mainly for travel since I stay in hotels quite often. The first thing I noticed was how small and lightweight it is — about palm size and easy to carry in a bag or suitcase. The metal body also feels pretty solid. It’s very simple to use. Just turn it on and adjust the sensitivity knob. I tried it around the TV, smoke detector, outlets, and mirror in my hotel room. It did alert a couple of times, which turned out to be normal wireless signals, but it shows the hidden camera detector / bug detector is working. I also like the vibration mode, which is useful at night. Battery life seems good so far. Overall, a simple and practical privacy protection device to bring when traveling.

When I ordered this "Bug Detector / Anti-Spy detector", I wasn't sure how well it would work, however after a little practice with it, I'm pleasantly surprised at how good it actually is. The first thing to point out is that this is a general RF (radio frequency) detector. It won't magically point out where transmitting devices are and requires a little knowledge about how to use it and how radio frequencies work. The instruction booklet is far easier to understand that I expected and sets out how to operate this detector in easy steps. In terms of RF detection (any electrical item that produced a RF, including WiFi, phones, wireless cameras, other transmitters and power adaptors, etc) it's simply a case of attaching the short antenna and switching it on via the rotating knob on the top, which also operates the detection strength. It works best with all non-essential devices switched off in the room. You then set it at the minimal sensitivity level, with 1 green light on, then move it around the room until the unit detects a RF. You can adjust the sensitivity throughout via the control knob. Using the "GPS bug" detection is actually a case of detecting magnets. Attach and extend the Flexi probe with LED on the end and press the left button for 3 seconds to change mode. The short antenna is not needed at this point. Move the probe around and it will detect any magnetic fields from devices held onto metal via magnets. I've tested it on small magnetic devices and it illuminates the LED as soon as it picks up a magnet. Finally, the camera lens detector can be used to observe reflections from camera lenses. You switch the red LEDs on and observe through the circular viewer. Overall, this is far more impressive than I expected. It works well, with a little practice. The unit is well built and very simple to operate. Although designed for bugs, this can easily be used arou d the home to detect RF that may be interfering with other devices or that which can disrupt your sleep. I can definitely recommend this device.
