HandiHoldall XL 400L Waterproof Roof Bag / Top Box (Black) – Cargo Carrier with Foldable Solid Base

There is not really a good flattering photo of the bag when fitted correctly as the straps press down on the bag and make it look how it does in my image, the bag was twice as fast to I stall the second time as I knew exactly what to do, you get 4 small straps one for each corner of your roof bars and 4 long straps one for each corner of the top of the bag that wrap around the ends of your roof bars, the straps are made of a very tough material that is grippy on one side and the clasps are metal so should last, it's very easy to throw on the roof and get centre than clasp each corner, I put all 4 clasps onto the bars loose them step back and adjust left or right until centre then tighten up the straps, the bag easily takes 6 X full large bags for life + covers coats etc there is tonnes of tmroom it's really fantastic, I have used once in very windy conditions and obviously it didn't budge, definitely remember to tuck in any loose straps as they will tap on the roof and be very annoying as I found out the first use, I highly recommend this product.

Brilliant roof bag that survived a torrential downpour of rain on our 5 hour drive to Devon! We managed to fit a lot in including a travel cot, suitcases and bags. Fit great on our Land Rover discovery sport.

The product as a whole, isn't great. The bottom straps are really fiddly and the side straps are too short and put too much strain on the stitching. You'll also have to get your super glue out to properly stick the ends of the poles on, otherwise they'll come off every time you use it. Take away the negatives, however, and the the bag itself is pretty good. It's essentially a massive dry bag. I ended up getting some 4m ratchet straps, that were perfect for wrapping around roof bars and going all the way over the bag, removing the pulling strain from the bag loops. This worked a treat and turned a pretty poor product into something that is pretty great. Shame it doesn't come with better strapping. If it did, it would be a great buy. As it stands, you need to think about additional cost for better straps. Pros: - Bag keeps everything dry, just make sure you face the storm flaps into the wind. - Packs away easily and to a small size, you'll be able to throw it any cupboard. - Good size. You can get a lot in it. It was perfect for a camping trip. Cons: - Straps are not suitable for the bag. Useful for something else, maybe. - Ends of the poles fall off easily and need additional gluing. - Pole slots aren't designed very well and do tend to slip out. Haven't noticed this being much of a problem though, especially if you pack well and have other supports to give the bag rigidity on the roof. Other things to note: - You do have to fill it when using it, it's no good putting a small amount in it. - The bag is not the thickest material and gets soft in the sun, so you'll need to be careful when putting it on the roof. Once up there it's fine and can take the wind without a problem. All said, I would recommend the bag when using 2x4m ratchet straps. It's great if you haven't got space to store a rigid roof box. Fitted this to a Mini Cooper and it was a perfect size.

Fab item - we use it to put lighter camping stuff in (airbeds, sleeping bags etc) and it holds a lot! It was definitely tested last weekend as we set off in torrential rain that continued for the whole journey. All items inside were nice and dry when we arrived though. When not in use it’s super compact - which is why we bought as we don’t have space to store a box. The reinforced bars mean no sagging and you can attach to your roof bars properly.

I was really impressed with this and it is cavernous as other reviewers have pointed out. It dealt with very heavy rainfall no problem and was easy to pop onto the roof bars. The frustration was twofold. Firstly when I was fastening to the bars as per the instructions, the strapping looked like it was coming away from the bag when I pulled tight (not over tight). I think that is a case of trusting the straps maybe (possibly they don't need to be too tight) and I did add ratchet straps for complete piece of mind. Secondly, when I removed the storm flap, the velcro just peeled off the main bag as the glue had presumably failed. Without being able to seal the storm flap properly I had to return. I might have been unlucky if no one else has had this problem so worthy of consideration as overall the bag seems to be pretty good.

Product so bad. Not wasting time on it.

Briiant offers so much attentional space easy to use after the first go, it is water proof, we was travelling in heavy rain and were panicking as our clothes were in it, bone dry 👍👍👍

Just got back from our summer holiday camping trip to Cornwall which was fabulous, made so much easier with the HandiHoldall. Room for our all camping gear in the bag and gave use much needed extra space in the car for the journey. We brought a HandiRack from this company the other month and loved it for carrying our paddleboards. A little hesitant as a couple of reviews said they were missing straps but as we loved the service before and had straps with the HandiRack we went for it. So glad we did, everything was in the box all the straps the lot and was easy to get on the roof. The best part for us was we removed it from the roof once set up at the campsite, this meant we could enjoy the holiday without the height restrictions or need to carry an empty box around on the roof for the rest of the holiday.

Omdat ik perongelijk imperials had gekocht die strak op ons panorama dak zaten konden wij geen dakkoffer erop krijgen. Deze das op het laatste moment gevonden en besteld. Het zat prima met de sjor banden en het heeft ons niet gehinderd op de snelweg. Gewoon 140 mee gereden naar Italië. Zeker waterdicht! En goed materiaal. We hadden niet zonder gekund.

Stavo cercando una soluzione per portare più bagagli su una Toyota Yaris Cross, avevo bisogno di un prodotto che potesse prendere pochissimo spazio in casa una volta utilizzato. Se caricato a dovere noi non abbiamo udito particolari fischi o rumori molesti. Il prodotto regge bene l'acqua ed il bagaglio rimane al sicuro dalle intemperie. Si collega bene alle barre dell'auto. Io l'ho usato per trasportare delle borse morbide da viaggio e le ruote della mia carrozzina, tutto perfetto.

Die erst Reise (Dänemark und zurück) hat gut geklappt. Sind max. 140 km/h gefahren - alles ist dran geblieben. Die Montage ist etwas fummelig und einen Gurt konnten wir gar nicht zuordnen...Die übrigen Spanngurte ribbeln sich bereits etwas auf, könnte man aber ja irgendwann austauschen, wenn kaputt. Am besten frühzeitig mit Feuerzeug veröden! Der große Vorteil hier ist, dass man nichts auf dem Dach, sondern nur auf den Trägern aufliegen hat. Zudem hat man außerhalb des Urlaubs keinen riesen Trümmer von Dachbox in der Garage/ im Keller rumstehen, da man die Tasche schön zusammenfalten kann.
