Good solution for my old car, and not expensive
I use it as a backup battery in my old car. For some reason the old car battery loses charge rather quickly when it is not used on a regular basis. So this backup battery charger is a cool solution to this problem, preventing me from being stranded with a drained battery when traveling. In the end this solution is less expensive than what I was asked in the auto repair shop.

It worked as advertised
I have Ford Transit 350 so I connected to the CCP loccated near the starter battery. The charger works automatically only when the ignition switch is ON. I also connected to the solar panels and it works accordingly. Very good product.

Good for solar panel users / ham radio operators / off-grid users
I had to make up some of my own Anderson PowerPole style connectors on my equipment to make the connections because my existing ones weren't large enough, but once that was done it was a piece of cake to use this charger. This may or may not be needed in your situation so that is nothing against the product at all. Sunlight becomes power, and then power flows from the solar panels through the charger to my LiFePO4 battery, and then my ham radio is powered from that. I'm ready for Field Day or any other emergency in which I need an alternate to grid power. There's a little bit of RF noise that emanates from the unit, but it's not a huge issue. If worse comes to worse, just charge the batteries separately and when that's done just power your radios from the battery source with the charger disconnected. This functions exactly as it should and is not difficult to set up and use. Pay attention to what type of battery you are charging and what the settings on the charger are set to. I like that this is small enough to get tossed in my Go Bag and not be a huge hindrance.

Canโt charge in parallel
I purchased two of these and doesnโt let them work together from the same power source I have 200amp alternator which is plenty for my application i replaced old ones with these too in which I was 60amp with and now Iโm 50amp with these two which is less then I had before so itโs ok for one but using two to charge two sets of lithium batteries or any set of two I would not recommend this product If you have two sets or batteries or over 400ah

Finally a lithium battery owner with a very happy charger and solar assist! :D
I became a weekend warrior who decided to stop worrying about dead batteries by installing this dual-input charger in their trusty 5th Wheel. The quality of the unit is apparent from the moment the box is opened, showcasing a sealed design that shrugs off dust and moisture like a duck in a rainstorm. It feels heavy enough to be used as a blunt instrument in an emergency, which is always a reassuring sign of solid heat-sinking and internal components. The matte finish is a nice touch, as it doesn't reflect the glare of the work light while trying to bolt it into a dark corner. On the technical front, this 25-amp charger is a bit of a overachiever, managing to pull power from the alternator and the sun simultaneously or sequentially. It is specifically designed to pamper expensive LiFePO4 batteries, which is great for those who have spent a fortune on their power storage and don't want it fried. The voltage sensing is quite accurate, ensuring that the charger knows exactly when the engine is running and when it is time to switch to solar harvesting. It operates silently, which is a blessing compared to older units that sounded like a miniature jet engine taking off in the backseat. Installing the device was less of a headache than expected, provided one has the right size fuses and a decent set of wire strippers. The Anderson plugs make the final connection a breeze, clicking into place with a satisfying snap that suggests they aren't going anywhere during a rocky trail ride. It fits neatly into small gaps, though the user should probably avoid burying it under a pile of wool blankets if they want it to stay cool. There were no mysterious leftover parts or confusing error codes upon the first startup, which is a rare win for any DIY project. The design is clearly focused on durability, with a sealed chassis that protects the brains of the operation from the harsh realities of life on the road. Its unique ability to act as both a DC-DC charger and a solar regulator makes it a very cool space-saving solution for smaller rigs. The color scheme is neutral and professional, avoiding the bright oranges or greens that scream for attention in a cluttered utility space. It feels like a piece of equipment that was designed by people who actually go camping and understand that things will inevitably get dirty. However, the lack of a remote display means the user has to physically crawl into the battery compartment to check the charging status. The mounting holes are a bit on the small side, which might require a trip to the store if the only screws on hand are the heavy-duty variety. Also, the transition between solar and DC power can sometimes have a momentary lag that might confuse a very sensitive battery monitor. It is a reliable workhorse that brings peace of mind to the remote traveler, even if it keeps its charging secrets a little too close to its chest. :D Excellent Things Robust aluminum housing provides excellent physical protection and heat management during long charging cycles. ๐ Dual input capability allows for maximum charging efficiency whether driving or parked in the sun. ๐ Compact form factor fits into tight spots that larger, bulkier chargers simply cannot inhabit. ๐ Pre-installed Anderson connectors save significant time and effort during the initial wiring phase. Unworthy Things No remote monitoring option makes it difficult to track performance while sitting in the driver's seat. ๐ Mounting tabs are somewhat narrow and may not accommodate larger self-tapping screws easily. ๐ The unit can become quite hot to the touch when processing the full 25-amp load. ๐ The internal relay makes a clicking sound that might be annoying in a very quiet sleeping area.

Very handy to have in emergencies.
I am really glad I got this when I did. This charged the battery that supplied power to a fridge and 2 freezers in my garage during a 3 day long power outage. The Anderson connectors are standard sized and all the connectors fit what I already had set up on my pickup for the winch. Solar is good and I already have a few hundred watts of panels on my roof rack, but it does not do much when the weather keeps it dark outside for a week. This was really nice to have.

A good DC/DC charger, an okay solar charger.
I have the 25 amp version. I like the ability to charge from the vehicle while driving then from panels once stopped. You can't use both at the same time but that's not a big drawback. I tested this using 2 Licitti solar boxes with 100 ah LifePo4 batteries in them. They both have 50 amp Anderson connectors (SB50) so the installation was a snap. But it would be very easy to install in a vehicle also by running your hot & ground into a SB50 and plugging it in. The connecting cables feel short but they are 12" long. There are no fuses in the external wiring. I was able to charge directly from one box to another. It worked very well. the charger never got hot. I did not use the blue alternator wire in this test and it still charged. The voltage on the source was 12.7v and the destination was 139 and the charger worked fine, showing it's able to boost the voltage from a lower voltage source. I was able to get it to charge at almost 21 amps while pulling 25 from the source. I thought that was pretty good. However the solar charging was not as good. It works fine but it's not as efficient as my dedicated MPPT. I tested with 2 different panels. The first is a 200 watt panel which puts out 34 volts at 5.8 amps. The 2nd is a 120 watts 18 volts / 6.5 amps. The DC/DC charger would not work with the 200 watt panel. The charger specs state solar input voltage of 9-32 volts so the 34 volts was too high The 120 watt panel worked fine yielding 6.5 amps charging. I was also able to connect the 2 panels in series which yields a solar input of 24 volts. This worked with the charger and yielded 14 amps charging. That's not as good as the 16.5 amps I get running the 200 watts into the dedicated MPPT and the 120 watt panel into the DC/DC charger. The voltage limit on the solar input will make it difficult to find the right panel or combination of panels that is close to the 300 watts without going over the voltage limit of 32 volts. Overall this is a really good DC/DC charger. It's an okay solar charger. If you can only have one charging device then get this one. For me I'll use a dedicate MPPT for my main solar charging then use this charger for DC/DC charging from my vehicle but also as a 2nd MPPT for extra charging from portable panels.

Fast Shipping....
Amazed how quickly this arrived. This charger is very handy and also very easy to use. The included Anderson plugs are great. Solid plastic without burs that easily snap in to their mate. The cost is not cheap but for the value here I feel it is spot on. I love how durable the aluminum housing is and how well it keeps the charger from overheating. Fit and function on this are also great. If you need a charger like this, this is an excellent choice. 5 stars, no question.
