I purchased the FlexiSnake Drain Millipede MAX to tackle a stubborn hair clog in my bathroom drain, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The 20-inch length was perfect for reaching deep into the pipes, and the full micro hook rods did an excellent job at snagging all the hair and gunk. I’d definitely buy the FlexiSnake Drain Millipede MAX again and would recommend others to keep this handy tool within reach for a quick, effective, and budget-friendly solution to common drain clogs.

These work so great for clearing a drain. Put it together jam it in and give a couple twists pull it out and you have a rat tail of hair. If you clean it well you may be able to get a couple uses out of each line but that is why they sell replacements, they get pretty gross and are difficult to reuse multiple times. This is the best device to clean out one’s sink and shower drains. Amazing what this will clean out and really helps in buildings like condos and apartments. Very satisfying to get all that stuff outa there and fast draining.

My bathtub/shower has been draining slower and slower in recent weeks, even though I use a screen to catch hair from going down the drain. I’ve previously tried the firm plastic snake tool with barbs on them and it didn’t work for me; I think the plastic snake tool must have been too short for my drain. This FlexiSnake Drain Weasel Max was the longest tool I could find (30 inches) and, it seemed much more flexible (and thus easier to work with) than the firm plastic snake tool with barbs type of product. It was easy to use. I didn’t extract any huge globs of hair/gunk from my drain, but there was a little bit of soap scum that I was able to extract. Based on how little I extracted from the drain, I was thinking that perhaps the Drain Weasel Max was also not going to do the job for me, and I was resigning myself to having to eventually call my plumber and pay serious $$$$$ for the visit. But, surprise! The water is draining normally now! Even though I didn’t exact a lot of “stuff” from the drain, the Drain Weasel Max did something that worked; perhaps the “stuff” got pushed down the drain instead of being stuck to the sides of the Drain Weasel Max? I don’t know what happened, but I’m glad it worked for me.

The product description says 20 inches but the product I received said 18 inches. That said, it worked better than I expected. Even though it does say the snake attachments are one use I had hopes that they might be able to be cleaned and re-used. I suppose it may be possible to clean one but not easily. I think it should be priced lower based on the quality of the material.

This product helped me declog my drain within minutes! Great product ! highly recommend.

The only reason I would recommend this product - FlexiSnake’s “Drain Weasel MAX Sink Snake” ($15 as of 05/22/20) - is if your drain clog is further than 18 inches from the drain. This product is nearly identical to the the base 18 inch model - the “Drain Weasel Hair Clog Tool Starter Kit” - which FlexiSnake sells through Home Depot ($6 as of 05/22/20). I suspect the most customers will not need the additional 12 inches (30 inch total) in length that this version offers. This product is also not designed as well as the base model, IMO. (FWIW, the FlexiSnake website does not list this 30 in. MAX version. Moreover, FlexiSnake directs customers to Home Depot to purchase the products that are listed). The base 18 in. wand has Micro-Hooks (the part that grabs hair) only on the leading tip (maybe last 10% of length). The MAX 30 in. wand, on the other hand, had Micro-Hooks running the entire 30 inches. This means hair and gunk are collected on almost every part of the wand that goes into the sink, not just the tip (it’s gross). I also didn’t realize that their wands (both 18 in. and 30 in. versions) are intended to be single-use disposables. This makes the $15 price point of the MAX even more ridiculous. Ultimately, if you’re looking to purchase a drain hair clog tool, and don’t need 30 inches (you probably don’t), then buy the base model for $6 from Home Depot.

These snakes work very well especially when you have multiple turns in old pipes. Pushed it down the drain without removing or disassembling anything. Just turn slowly as it goes down. Cleared a slow sink drain in minutes. Great item! Good price. The length was just what I needed because I had purchased the 18” which weren’t long enough.

Fit into the drain under the stopper and removed the clog. Easy to use.
