API Algae Scraper (acrylic)

It seems to work well for cleaning my acrylic jellyfish tank.

I briefly had a 5 gallon aquarium but, without prior experience, it got ahead of me and I eventually gave up on it. I turned it into a easy care, fake succulent terrarium. No work, well lit, looked great and just had to dust the cover. But the glass scrubber stayed with me. It's now seven years later and my 'think out of the box mind' found great new uses. First it worked nicely in the tub, but I recently I started to use it as a TOILET BOWL BRUSH! No kidding! Now it's been used to the point where it needs replacement and I will buy two--one for the toilet, another for the tub. I'll mark one with nail polish to distinguish them. The reason I love it for the toilet is the shape and no bristles. Since it is slightly angled and FLAT, it scrubs UNDER the rim like nothing else. And without bristles, it doesn't splatter water drops all over the place! Bristles for me don't hit the bowl surface or scrub as well, either. In my case, it also fits the throat of the toilet perfectly making cleaning so much efficient. Who woulda thunk?

Works well. Just wish there was a handle to attach to so you don't have to stick your hand in the tank to use.

This fine enough for wide open glass in the aquarium, but it's really bulky and thick, so I can't use it around any decorations because it doesn't fit between them and the glass. I end up barely using it because it's easier to just get my arm in there with a paper towel. I'm taking off stars because it's really not that useful to me at all. With that stated, it is sturdy and good for scrubbing if you have tough algae. I'll give it 3 stars because if you have an occasion where it is the right tool for the job, the actual quality of the product is good.

nice scraper works well good price wish they made one with a longer handle but over all a good aquarium cleaner

Works as advertised

I had heavy brown algae growing in my betta's 3-gallon acrylic tank and wanted a product that wouldn't scratch. I'm amazed how well this sponge worked to easily remove the algae and NO SCRATCHES! Just be sure to really, really wet the sponge and keep it wet when in use. Also, be gentle - don't press hard. If it doesn't remove algae immediately then simply re-do the area but don't apply more pressure. Remember, very light touch and it will do the job.

Funciona de maravilla, limpia muy bien las algas de los vidrios del acuario. En mi acuario se formó demasiada alga muy rápido, con esto pude limpiarlo de manera rápida y sencilla. No requiere mucho esfuerzo y su tamaño es lo suficientemente largo para hacerlo sin mojar tus manos.

Perfect for our little aquarium. Very rigid, the sponge has enough grit to scrape off the algae easily. Handle is long enough not to get your hands wet. What more would you need.

Limpa bem.

A bit bigger than I expected, good for larger tanks but with mine being small it was a bit overkill. This doesn't retract from the effectiveness of this scraper, it does the job well.
