A NEW "Kubowara" design instantly converts from traditional Key Ring Kubotan into an "unencumbered" Yawara Stick,..FAST! Hand crafted in the USA from .44" Diameter Aerospace Grade 5 Titanium Rod, it's a compact & practical EDC Tool for EVERYONE! The 5-1/2" low profile stick virtually "disappears" into most any pocket, for discreet carry. The often touted "flailing" of keys into an attacker's face is more likely to anger than stop them. In a serious attack, better to use the longest key as a separate jabbing tool in your other hand, OR "feign fling" the separated keys into an attackers face as a brief distraction allowing you to move in to STRIKE quickly! A secure grip is something that has often been lacking with the also compact Kubotan style sticks, but they always "feel" rather thin to me and a bit slippery. (especially when WET!) Also, in Kubotan Sticks such as the well known "Fury", multiple deep finger grooves are often CUT OUT in an attempt to "add" some security to the grip. Kubotan sticks are already rather thin, so to cut material AWAY in an attempt to "add grip" is simply going in the wrong direction! I think what I present here is much better, & ALL testing & feedback bear that out! So, instead I offer a basic Yawara / Kubotan stick shape, but having a VERY comfortable & high coefficient of friction "RAISED" reinforced central rubber gripping area OPTIMIZED to the user's hand! As part of the ergonomic design, the central grip length is approximately 1-7/8" in length to allow the user to effectively "lock" the stick within their closed fist ( aka "Fist-Lock"). With the first finger butted up against the comfortably tapered top edge of the grip, & the forth finger (pinky) butted up against the similarly tapered lower edge of the grip, the stick is effectively LOCKED in place between both ends of the raised rubber grip within a closed fist! The result is the FIST-LOCK "mechanical" connection to the hand!
