Packing for a 8d/7n cruise for two. Not packing too heavy, but enough. The 32 or 28?

I have both. Used the 32 for a 12 day trip to Italy and the 28 for 4-5 excursion. If you're packing lightly the 28 will probably work for the cruise.

Is this bag water resistant?

Water resistant? Yes. Repels water? Yes. Waterproof? I doubt it, but... Mac, my bag was still out tonight from a recent trip, so I took a cup of water out to my manspace, and I poured part of it on the top part, part on the bottom part, and then just splashed it real good on the front with the rest.Most all of it runs off the slick nylon surface immediately. The tiny amounts that lingered could not be felt on the inside. I tried to press what remained through the top corner, and never felt it on the inside. Definitely some water resistance there. Mine has made it through two damp trips- Alaska, and Seattle, with no wet contents. Walking in the rain, you should be good. Spill a drink on it, you should be good. Not sure how well it would stand up in a downpour or if it would float, but it might! I said in another review, this is the only piece of luggage I have carried that got compliments from the TSA and others who handled it. It's a good carryon bag. Buy it!
