Off course if you connect it to a mixer tap, it would be much more pleasant, but even with cold water it's not that bad.

Does this have 2 different sprays

Hi the flow is a fairly high pressure stream rather than a spray, no nozzle adjustment , I reduce the the flow from the taps & used a diverter valve placed next to shower valve -originally intended to wash the dog after muddy walks.

Can I connect it to my basin?

Depend… you have to check the pipe size… anyway there are in sell some reduction size
