Sure. This thing doesn't "shake" itself. You have to shake it. Of course. That's what it's designed for. Why would you buy a piece of exercise equipment that does all the work for you? You wouldn't be exercising then, would you? While I supposed you could buy a static hand weight and shake it, this has a springy give that actually enhances the exercise effect. The result is a well-designed exercise tool that doesn't need to be huge or heavy in order to deliver maximum effect. Indeed, a few minutes shaking this thing is exhausting and burns all the right muscles, as it should. You do have to be careful to follow the instructions and use it accordingly. Shaking it improperly can put unnecessary strain on joints and tendons. So practice before going all out. From what I can tell after using it for two weeks, it's durable, well-made and easy to handle. I just don't see a down side. Add it to your collection of small and efficient exercise machines. I keep it in my TV room and use it whenever I sit down. A few minutes of this and I'm worn out. Well worth the purchase.
