Purple Dragon EDC Fixed Blade Knife with Wooden Sheath

Yes, it is a Japanese made knife. With this one, however, the quality went into it, and they produced a reputable field knife for the beginner. For average use and may be above, it will hold its own. Even against some high-end knives of similar category. The blade, like most blades from Japan, is extremely dull. But nothing a little time and effort won't fix. The company is noted for middle of the road kitchen knives so, with little to draw on, this is a good blade. The sheath, however, is a little rough? It does protect the knife, but that's about it. It's just a standard sheath that one would expect from cheaper brands. But this too isn't a deal breaker for this knife. With little or nothing to compare it too, I'd have to say alongside similar made or type knives, this is favorable. With a little work, a 'new' sheath, and some modifications, this will serve as a good addition to your outdoor, camping, or survival knife. Beyond that is still up for debate. Good size. Good design. Good function. Less than ideal sheath. Needs some honing. And some TLC to get it to the level of worthy. Almost there, though.

Great just an awesome high carbon steel blade with lovely wood scabbard and handle with brass and silver accents make this not only a very functional tool but also very pleasing to the eyes. Give it 6 stars if I could I bought 2.

Firstly, the mechanism with key ring attached, although it is original and pretty neat looking, does not lock the blade in. And maybe it's not supposed to. Maybe that's an assumption on my part. Regardless, the Only concerning thing to me is the brass looking pin that goes across the inside of the wooden sheath, part of the mechanism that I thought locked in the blade. That pin is exposed on the inside and will drag across the sharp edge of the blade quickly dulling it for you. You really don't want the business end of the blade dragging across anything metal. A flaw in their design. Other than that, it is a nice knife. And mine came sharp. We're it not for that pin, it'd get all 5 stars.

Best knife I ever had. Pleasing to look at...blade is very very sharp. Unlike most camping knives, always dull and hard to sharpen.

Great knife for the price,good edge. Impressed for the price. Hard plastic sheath. Good weight and nice blade design. Handle fits hand well with a good grip. We added a string to the back and the front to tie the sheets of the leg.
