Adjustable Dog Wheelchair for Large Dogs - Lightweight Aluminum Mobility Aid Harness for Back Legs, Support Disabled, Handicapped, Old Limited Mobility Pets

I have a 15 year old Westie (9 kg) male with both back legs lame. It has been a concern as he seemed to deteriorate quite quickly. Too old for surgery and has other age related medical issues. As a last resort I bought him one of these trolleys. Being realistic I did not expect great success. However once assembled, they supply all the bits including Allen keys and a video on Amazon. I found assembly and adjustments quite straight forward, plus there were extra fixing screws etc. Placing the dog in the assembled trolley is quite straight forward. Once front and back legs are in place only one retaining clip is needed to fasten or release the dog. One bit of advice for male dogs with testicles is to make sure the testicles are clear of the two rings which support the hind legs, i.e. the testicles should be behind the rings. Some minor adjustments may be needed (not to the testicles but the frame) , relatively easily done. I was quite surprised at how quickly he adapted to the trolley. What helped was putting his collar and lead on, as if going for a walk and gently coaxing the dog to walk. Although old and frail he now walks quite happily around our lawn and has a new lease of life. We are both extremely pleased. The trolley is well made, sturdy and functions well. Obviously an old fella like mine does not charge around as a younger dog would. I hope this brief review will encourage those with elderly dogs like mine to try the trolley. I was sceptical but pleased with the quality and and practical outcome. He can totter around outside on the lawn and do his bits and bobs outside, so it has practical and hygiene advantages as well. All round very pleased. Being an older dog the frame supports them and they can stand up by themselves when eating and drinking. It has transformed him being able to have some independence again. It has made me very happy seeing a great improvement in his well being. Happy to answer any questions.

I'm very pleased with this after being unsure how it would be. I got the small for my jack Russell/corgi cross and it is ideal. It has lots of adjustments for length, width, height and tension of rear leg supports which adds or decreases height as well., and the straps around the neck/shoulders/chest also adjust which sets the height of the front. It is lightweight and she easily rolls over stuff up to nearly the height of the wheel itself. I was sceptical how she would turn around in it but it was very easy from the off as the wheels have enough flexibility in them to not cause a problem. The overall width/span between the wheels is not too wide but enough to be hard to tip over (although not sure on bigger dog sizes?), although she does catch them on the door-frame sometimes so keep that in mind. Overall I'm very pleased with it and i'm not sure what more you could get from more expensive ones, particularly for small dogs.

This was very lightweight, only suitable for a medium dog, definitely not a large dog. Waste of money.

Good basic starting point for a dog wheelchair. It's light and has lots of adjustments to make setup for your dog easy. There are a number of problems with it. First, the wheels are not very good, they are too small to roll over minor obstacles and because the bearing doesn't line up properly with the washer, one side always loosens. The good thing is that you can replace them with better, taller wheels. I changed to 200mm wheels (stock is 120mm) but I needed to get some longer M10 bolts. They run much better. Second, the screws for the length adjustment continually loosen. I had to use Locktite and tape to hold that in place. Lastly, the thread on loops that attach the harness to the length adjustment bars came undone and had to be re-sown. After fixing all these things and just over two weeks of ownership, the chair works quite well, our dog really enjoys it. Given the problems so far, I hope that it lasts a reasonable length of time.

Perfect product, lightweight and easy to put together. Our daughter's dog has temporary paralysis of his back legs (he is a Frenchie cross) and he was wondering what to do at first but soon got the hang of it and was able to move around with ease. Thank you

Good but doesn’t last very long we have had a few sets of wheels for our French bulldog but generally you get maybe 3 months of use before they break not very well made

Bought it as a last ditched attempt to keep my Frenchie going for at least a few more months, even years? Time really was of the essence so obviously next day delivery was a deciding factor. It arrived as promised and at least it gave me a bit of hope. My dogs back legs had gone and he wasn't going to the toilet either. I hoped that with his little wheelchair I might be able to rectify that problem. The assembly instructions were almost useless. After about 30 min and looking at some photos of the wheelchair on line, I was able to assemble it. I was a little confused as to why there were spare nuts and bolts left over? Measuring up was a bit awkward and it meant putting my dog through something he really wasn't happy about. Once again referring to photos it became clear that the end of the adjustable length bars needed to be level with the dogs front shoulder and the wheels needed to be higher than the measurements suggested. The harness wasn't really up to much. No padding at all. For anybody considering buying this wheelchair I would recommend that before you attempt to fit the harness colour code each part. with perhaps a bit of pvc tape so you know which clip goes where. It's really difficult keeping the back end up while fumbling around trying to figure out the different straps. I bought the medium size which was fine for the width but there really wasn't much room at the back end which could be a problem if the dog still has all its tackle. A few of the corners were a bit sharp and I covered the back bar with some soft fabric. After much trying we went for a very short walk. Alas, it wasn't to be. I imagine with a bit more time we may have made some progress. He did take a few steps but he wasn't comfortable and I wasn't going to stress him any further. So in conclusion, this product may work for you. With some practice you could get it to work once you have it all set up. The build quality was ok. I don't think the frame would snap or anything. The harness could be better and the leg braces were just sponge covered bits of string. They do the job I suppose. Sadly I had no choice but to have my dog put to sleep today. I was hoping for a miracle. I really wanted this wheelchair to be the answer. I am sure with the right dog and a bit of perseverance this wheelchair could work.

My pug has Myelopathy so his hind legs are giving up. He loves his walks so we bought these wheels to make them easier. He loves them and can move around a lot faster. He's even learnt how to steer around obstacles by himself. Apart from this condition he is extremely healthy for a 10 year old Pug. Anything to help make his life more comfortable is worth every penny.

Eigentlich stabile Ausführung, gut verarbeitet, macht einen qualitativ hochwertigen Eindruck. Der Abstand zwischen den Rädern sorgt, für Sicherung gegen umfallen. Für unsere Bedürfnisse war der Abstand der Räder zu breit, unsere Hündin blieb oft an Pfosten usw. hängen.

Unsere Französiche Bulldoge hat durch einen Bandscheibenvorfall bedingt Lähmungserscheinungen auf den hinteren Beinen. Sie kann diese nicht mehr voll belasten, weshalb größere Runden nicht mehr möglich sind. Und die kleine Runden die wir gehen powern sie spürbar aus. Da er mittlerweile schon 10 Jahre alt ist, wird es mit der jetzt schon geringen Belastbarkeit der Hinterbeine, also nicht mehr besser. Deshalb haben wir uns für einen solchen Rollstuhl entschieden und es nicht bereut. Anfänglich war das angurten noch noch gewöhnungsbefürftig für ihn. Sobald aber angeschnallt startet er gleich durch. Wo vorher eine kleine Runde schon 30min dauert, sind wir bei gleicher Strecke nach 10min wieder daheim. Durch die gute Unterstützung sind jetzt auch wieder größere Runden zusammen mit unserer Hünden möglich. Definitv eine Quality of Life Verbesserung für ihn. Der Rollstuhl ist robust und gut einstellbar, die Räder sehr leichtläufig. Wir gehen Feld- aber auch Waldwege, also nicht nur Asphalt, und unser Rüde brettert damit überall lang. :-)
