How much area does a tube cover?

The manufacturer says 10 linear feet when the product is applied in beads 1/2" wide and 1/2" thick.  In my case, I've been able to get around 20 linear feet by reducing the thickness to 1/4".  (I've applied it on top of a privacy redwood fence with 1/2" thick slats surrounding a swimming pool to discourage doves by the dozen from perching on top of the fence to do their morning poop.  I was wasting precious water washing down the deck and fence afterward.)

Even though the manufacturer recommends applying a 1/2" thick bead, doing so causes the bead to lose its shape and flatten out when it is being squeezed out of the tube, especially if you are using it in a narrow area such as on top of a fence.   I found a less wasteful and more controlled application is to reduce the bead's thickness to 1/4."   If a thicker application is wanted, apply a second time after the glue has hardened from the first application.

Would this work for starrlings?

It absolutely will work for starrlings.  Birds in general do not like sticky stuff on the bottom of their feet. I've had wonderful results with this product.

Is this effective for pigeon problem?

Couldn't say. Works great on small birds. It is sticky as can be so it may work on pigeons too. For the few bucks it may be worth  a try.

Question 4

Could I put this on my railings to keep birds from landing on them. Then clean it off after they stop? Does it clean off easy?

I have mine on a 1 1/2 inch ledge above a window on a covered patio.  It works because it stays sticky. The birds are always testing it. After a couple of years it became less effective due to the dust blowing a lot in AZ. I scraped most of it off and applied new and it continues to work.  You could scrape it off but would need a grease cutter to get the residual off I would think but the birds will come back.  I would not want to get it on myself for the same reason the birds hate it, gooey.  Unless no one goes near the railings I would not use it there.
