I recently started cutting my own hair and wanted a nice way to trim my hairother than threading my fingers through my hair and pulling up or out for my head. This invention is very cool and lets you sinch your hair and with either hand, and hold it vertically or to the side of your head so that you can cut with scissors or some clippers. I can imagine this is meant for men or women with short hair as the longer it gets the harder it is to keep your hair a consistent length as you go. It definitely takes guts to use but knowing that you were going to save a butt load of money helps you finally take the plunge to cut your own hair. I couldn’t be happier using this along with my clippers with multiple guards that vary from an eighth of an inch to 5/8 of an inch.

Scissor effect would appear to work but it grips the hair unevenly. One would say it’s inexpensive, what do you expect? I expected it to work. The price has nothing to do with it. A product should work at its retail price; otherwise don’t produce it.

This thing fell apart as I took it out of its packaging and could not be reassembled because parts were missing. Not only that there appeared to be no way to set how long you wanted your hair. Save your money and get something else!

Maybe my hair is too fine for this. It snags and doesn’t slide up easily.

Reminds me of the metal plate that barbers used to use to give "flattops". It had grooves in it and anything rising between the grooves got clipped. I always thought it was a great idea and I was surprised to see somebody finally came up with this. I've been cutting my hair most of my life, and I can't really afford a flobee, so this has been an answer to my prayers. There's a definite learning curve to it and it's even tougher when looking into a mirror. My method was always to look into the mirror while I'm pulling up the hair that I want to cut and then looking away from the mirror and cutting the hair by feeling. I've been blessed with great hair, all my life, and all I really have to do is just make sure that it's all cut the same length and it comes out perfect every time. What I will say about this is that it does kind of grip hard and uneven (like so many have mentioned in their complaints about it), but if you end up doing your entire head like that, then you obviously have a pattern going and you can do something with it. I'm always looking on the bright side. Hey, we could all be bald. Anyway, I gave it four out of five stars because it IS kind of clumsy to use and I'm going to have to get used to it but I started doing that already the first time I tried it and I'm really happy with it so far. Maybe next year they'll come out with an advanced or an upgraded product that I'd be happy to look forward to.

I’m returning these. It might just be me. I don’t have that long of hair and I find it’s easier just to use my fingers and the scissors for more accuracy. I ended up cutting a big hole in my hair using this with trimmers.

Makes it so much easier to get an even cut.

This is a game changer for keeping my hair looking good the whole month through, really easy to use. Actually managed to do a full cut on myself as well, and got complimented on it! It seems really well made and durable, fits nicely in the hand and it grips my hair very firmly without slipping, which was my main concern when trimming it to length. Definitely worth the cost several times over in how much it saves on (often sketchy) paid haircuts.
