Fantastic coffin handled Bowie knife ,great value
Feel:I just received this handmade coffin handled Bowie knife and it exceeded my expectations! It arrived well packaged and was very sharp out of the box,it's blade is over 9 inches long and I love large blades!it's polished and the grinds and angles look like a factory made knife ,I pictured it next to one of my Cold Steel Trailmasters to show size and I love the coffin handle! This is a serious fighting or self defense knife and looks about 5 mm thick! I also ordered another knife from the same company, the Damascus steel curved Bowie knife and I highly recommend this one the handle is big enough for my XXL hands and their are no hot spots or sharp edges anywhere and the leather sheath is actually pretty good, wish they made one 12 inches or longerย ,the REG 49 I received was damaged, cracked wood handle and a cut where they put the knife into the sheath, very disappointed and how it passed quality control is a valid question โ the package was delivered in good condition so it wasn't from shipping, just check these well ,I returned it because in that condition it would be worth half price or less imo

Quality, of finish and design!
This is a well made Bowie from the scales to the finish on the blade itself. Very sharp! The style of the handle is reminiscent of antique knives I have seen. The only problem as in most cases is the inconsistency of the quality of leather used in the sheath. I purchased 2 and the style and way it secures the knife is different.Iโm giving it five stars because of the knifes quality.DC

Nice "sanmai damascus" :-D
This blade is actually not true "damascus steel", but possibly a layer of hard carbon steel sandwiched between two layers of folded & twisted steel of undefined quality. If the 3 layers are of good quality with matching requirements for heat treatment, said heat treatment being executed correctly & the blade shaped & sharpened without overheating it, this technique can even create a superior hardness & toughness than simple damascus (layering, folding, twisting...). A lot to expect for a very competitively priced knife made in Pakistan (prominently stenciled on the box), but the impression is entirely positive. The look & ring of the blade is good - no indication of bad bonding or even cracks or fissures. The pattern is not the most impressive - I would venture, the outer damascus layers were thin cuts of a thicker billet - but the pattern is clearly there & it is not lasered on. And it is razor sharp. Shaves hair, cuts paper, u name it. Of course, this is carbon steel. So it needs generous oiling or it will rust - but for this price, it is a great knife. Recommendation from me.

Outstanding Value/Quality
I am very pleased with this knife. For the price it can't be beat. The cost to value ratio is outstanding, and if you're looking for a quality, affordable Bowie knife to introduce to your collection, this is what I would recommend. A++

Great fit and finish
I buy a lot of knives, some inexpensive and some moderately expensive. These are the nicest I've bought at this price point. In fact you would expect the knife to be much more expensive.. The blade is beautiful, it feels so good in your hand. The handle is solid, it feel right and the fit is great. Recommend.

Matt Easton's Bowie Knife by Poshland. How's that for a title?
It's not bad it's just not what it's supposed to be....So I just picked up one of these knives. Cost was $50 US on Amazon. Blade was as expected. Spanish Notch has been moved back a bit. Slits bout 50/50 in the Ricasso. Fitment is kind of poor. Blade guard has been reduced in size. The swelling at the back of the coffin handle has been deleted. Probably to increase production. sheath is of poor Pakistani quality. Very thin leather on my example. Blade guard is put on a crooked. Tang stands proud over the wooden scales. And is quite sharp. I'd be happy to send it to Matt for a review. Anyhoo that's my experience with this company at this time. Hope you folks get a more correct copy from this company.

good quality
the knife has good balance . the handle has a great feel . the blade is nicely done but it could use a bit more sharppening but overall a very nice knife for the money

beautifully patterned knife
A big, heavy, beautifully patterned knife. Not exactly as pictured. Bone in the handle is black rather than shaded grey and it has more red and brass coloured spacers between the bone and wood. The scabbard is very well made and has snap fasteners, (which I prefer), rather than the buckles that are shown. There are a couple of tiny imperfections in the blade but that does not detract from the overall beauty and craftsmanship of this knife I consider it great value for the money. It was five days from ordering the knife to receiving it

Fairly Satisfied with a Few Surprises
I ordered this knife because I was looking for something with a nice handle that was decently affordable and fairly large. When I received it I was not disappointed at all, however there were a few surprises and small errors that I found with the knife that I got.1. The blade seems to be attached to the handle at a slightly slanted angle. It is welded very well and is extremely sturdy, just about 10-15 degrees off from being perfect.2. The blade is dipped in some kinda of paint to give it some pretty funky design. I personally think it is pretty cool, although it is hard to see the design in the Amazon description photos (I tried my best to show the design in on of my pictures). The Amazon description of "Beautiful Twist Pattern on Sharp Edge Blade" is not too helpful either.3. The knife came lubricated. I'm sure this is to preserve the paint or blade during shipping and in no way is this a complaint, I just think it's something to know before tearing into the package like I did. Although, the knife was not very sharp when I received it.4. The leather sheath the knife comes with is absolutely stunning. I wasn't sure if it was going to come with the knife because of the description, but it is such a knife addition to go with it!Overall, fairly satisfied with this purchase and would buy from this company again!

Good blade
I like the design of the blade and it is really sharp. The handle however needs improvement. The bottom metal part has uneven edges that needs to be polished in my opinion. Overall it is a good knife.
