900g Bags x 19mm Polyproylene (pp) Fibres for Concrete and Screed Reduces Shrinkage and Cracking

Worked well on a path that thinned out considerably. Remained solid and intact. Easy to use break it up / separate as small as you can ad it’s more effective

Saw these reinforcing fibres on a youtube video on fillet pointing. My previous attempts at pointing ended up cracking and flaking within 12 months. These are a bit of a faff as they require separating by hand which is rather laborious but worth doing before you try and mix them in as the mixing process itself does little to separate out the clumps. A little goes a very long way - my mortar was positively "hairy" but they're not visible in the finish. I'll never use all these in my lifetime but they seemed priced very keenly and delivery was extremely quick so it was worth getting more than I needed in order to get them quickly.

Having worked in a factory that made this, it is great, Ok it will not work for a bridge without steel, It works on slabs 2 to 3 meters square.

Great product You don't need a lot, a few handfuls is enough. Best results with a cement mixer Loading water first, then half the sand Mix A handful or two of the fibres Mix again Then half the cement Mix The second half of the sand And cement Mix until fully blended Then pour

Have never used before personally but have seen it used on construction sites in the screed. Very difficult to work out how much to add to my concrete mixer so just guessed by grabbing a small amount and bunging it in the dry mix. Lots of fine fibres floating about in the air during mixing so my lungs are probably full. I wasn’t sure if I had used enough as I bought 2 bagfuls of 900g for 2 cubic metres but ended up with two thirds of a bag left. However I noticed that on washing out and embedded in the waste concrete the fibres were well embedded. I broke open the waste concrete and the fibres seem to be embedded throughout. One final point I broke up the waste lumps after a few days and it was very difficult - the concrete just wouldn’t split apart so I think the fibres are doing their job really well. Would definitely add to any future screed or concreting project.

Not great out of the box as just pieces of cut rope. The person suggesting using a vacuum cleaner to puff up the fibres is a genius. Works really well and quick to separate the fibres ready for adding to mix.
